Hmn Personally, I would prefer for the Open Source Community to keep heading in the direction they are with Linux, BSD, etc than having to patch the Microsft crap, in the unlikely event that Windows ever is made open source My two bits;)
Well Its amazing to see the business world recognize the TRUE value of an enterprise which bases its high technology products around a tried and true OS - Linux. I read an article about cobalt in Wired earlier this year, and they chose Linux as a proven product. It saved them 2 years of development time in getting their servers to the market and guess what? The business/investment community recognized the sheer brilliance of the guys there;) Kudos to you folks at Cobalt
Wow, this should be great;)) I really enjoyed The Matrix (as did my wife.... non geek). It was a natural for more than one sequel. I also heard that the William Gibson novel Neuromancer was going to be made into a film with guess who starring.. Keanu Reeves..;)) The future certainly looks entertaining;)
Hmmn Joe Good point. I'm toying with the idea of getting Wine OR Vmware. To my simple mind;), Vmware sounds cleaner, and comments like the one you just made about Quickbooks, seems to confirm that
Well I think the growth of the Internet will never end. We as a species are learning how to work together and share ideas on a global scale at a rate unprecedented. We now have the ability as a GLOBAL society to set our sights towards greater challenges, space travel, time travel, etc and the Internet has been the breeding ground of the sharing of ideas of technological advantages, as well as a place to discuss, debate and in some cases rectify social issues eg the use of real audio for news reporting (uncensored) in the balkans a few years ago. My 2 bits;)
Intel is running scared. AMD clearly has as good or BETTER products priced reasonably. After all the garbage they(Intel) have put on the market in recent years to cover their screwups, 386sx, 486sx, some of the celerons and/or pentium II, I guess they just had to stoop to the FUD thing. Seems like deja vu to me (the name Microsoft rings any bells here ?? )
Haha, well take it were it came from, the good old U of T;)) j/k of course. I'm from Toronto and we are very proud of the U of T. hmmn, maybe I should try mashed potatoes while trying to remember ALL of this linux stuff;)
Well, I'm a Linux newbie, started last Nov, and I learned a lot about linux just because the media has been lately been so focussed on linux. I learned about slashdot.org through a blrb somewhere. The more people become aware about linux.. its strenghths and weaknesses too, the better OS it will continue to evolve into;))) My 2 bits;)
