    When I upload my GPL code to the net I am not bound by the GPL as the copyright holder (assuming I own all the work), however others that share my software are, that doesn't specially have to be uploading software.

    When you distribute it. It doesn't cover use at all.

    I never said the GPL covered use of the software.

    A EULA and GPL/BSD license is completely different.

    A GPL or BSD license comes into effect the minute you download the binary or code.

    A EULA can only come into effect when you click I agree. Most free software projects stick the GPL or BSD in the license section of an installer however don't make the mistake of thinking the GPL or BSD is a EULA type license. Even if you click "refuse" on the installer you're still bound by the GPL or BSD licenses.

    Your zealous fanaticism for open source is clearly apparent and clouding your judgement on the situation.

    I find it humorous in the middle of an article about how shitty an open source driver is that you see it fit to blame nvidia for breaking a developer release of KDE. The worse part is you think it matters.

    Do you get this angry when an open source driver has a bug? No.

    With older NVIDIA cards, I have worse performance than on my EeePC (GMA 900).

    Your old cards aren't as good as your new ones? shock! horror! Say it isn't so!

    Since your post she's been trying out PSPP and it's useless.

    Half the functions don't exist, the manual is horrible and the irc chat room has 3 people in it max at any time.

    PSPP isn't in any state to be called a replacement for SPSS.

    Sounds like they're focusing on the benefits without realising that it's not actually helpful at all, side from the fact that the distillery would be running anyway.

    Sorry I don't go for political bullshit statistics. It's not 9000 additional homes of enegry if it's a net loss. All you're doing is hiding the facts to make it sound better then it really is.

    Again, like others all you're doing is wasting your time complaining when you should be offering an alternative to DRM which stops piracy.

    I can't take you seriously if you're telling me to not buy a game simply because YOU don't like the fact they have DRM in it. Sorry but I play games because I like the game not because they support your cause for DRM free games.

    Playing games is about being entertained, not about the feel good factor of supporting a cause. You're completely missed the point and it's obvious you're not the target audience that game publishers are aiming for.

    No, after paying customers refuse to buy DRM encumbered products game developers give up on the PC and just make console games.

    I'm sorry, I (as a consumer) am not responsible for how some publisher wants to guard their IP.

    You're right and they've already decided by using DRM. You're complaining about the DRM so offer an alternative or don't complain.

    Now, where's YOUR solution to making DRM locked down games actually WORK as advertised?

    Why are you asking me? You're the one complaining it's not working, not me.

    You say that no DRM isn't an option, but it is, as all free software users know.

    So you're basically using this as an issue to further your goal of free software?

    and how much electricity does it take to power the distillery in the first place? Sounds like they're focusing on the benefits without realising that it's not actually helpful at all, side from the fact that the distillery would be running anyway.

    No, the best way you can fight DRM is to come up with something better that would stop piracy to some significant degree.

    I find it ridiculous that you say we should buy games not because we enjoy them but because they're DRM free. World of goo was DRM free too and it got pirated the shit out of it.

    DRM does stop piracy sometimes. There's been many cases where people just bought team fortress 2 on steam for the convenience of never having to continuously patch their games to work with the pirate servers.

    Most of your post is full of lies that keep getting perpetuated on slashdot.

    This problem with gears of war sucks but there working on it so what's the problem exactly?
