See The Gift. Sam Raimi did what noone else could: Got Keanu Reeves to play a character other than Ted -- and do it convincingly! He even does an accent throughout the entire film! It's shocking.
Or maybe people don't want to wear goggles and sci-fi wired gloves just to check their email.
Well eventually things like e-mail will be accomplished mostly via handheld or wearable devices of one stripe or another. The only reason nobody wants to wear VR goggles to use their computers today is because the damn things cause eye strain and headaches after not-so-extended periods of use.
I heartily endorse 98lite. Unfortunately the death of 95 means that Microsoft now has a license to produce software that REQUIRES Internet Explorer to be installed.
I don't know if they'll take advantage of that, but there are third parties who are already (Morpheus required IE to install).
I've found that some software that supposedly requires IE actually only requires certain DLL's that come with IE (SmatFTP is an example of this). Since 98lite leaves those DLLs in it's all good.
Bruce didn't have time to reply via e-mail because he doesn't know how to touch type. This slowed down the speed at which the book was written considerably.
Yeah, "mandatory" unless I filter them out the way I filter out Grokster's banners and eDonkey 2000's banners and the banners of every single web page I visit.
As for spyware, that's bad mojo. While I don't doubt that initially my kung-fu would best it, how do I know that it doesn't detect that the spyware is missing and redownload it in the background? Sure, I could scan my system regularly with OptOut but that would mean trusting Steve Gibson...
Why is this a big deal? I was doing text to speech on my Commodore 64 when I was a kid with a program called SAM (which was written in 1979). The C64 had what...1MHz?

What does MAPS have to be ashamed of? Also, those quotes around the word "support" imply that MAPS is not truly blacklisting spammers, their supporters and the customers of their supporters.
Once again I would like to ask Slashdot to get off it's anti-MAPS kick. If the editors actually read the comments they would realize that most of their readers do not share their poorly informed negative opinions of MAPS.
When I see the words "innocent victims" in your message I can't help but read it as "ignorant victims". These people don't need the EFF "protecting" them so that they can remain ignorant, they need to learn what an RBL listing really means.
If you subscribe to an ISP that allows spam and is so intent on allowing spam that it cannot work with the RBL to avoid a listing you are choosing to pay money to a company that doesn't care about keeping your business. Your ISP is essentially saying to you "Fuck off, we only care about keeping the contracts we have with spammers."
Do you continue to do business with other companies that tell you to fuck off on no uncertain terms? Does anyone?
From what I've heard, Spy Kids probably wasn't too bad. It was written and directed by Robert Rodriguez (remember 'El Mariachi'? 'Desperado'?) and got some good reviews.
You should have cited something from the recently created "truck-driver-chases-teens-through-cornfields" genre.
I've been doing this for a while. The new Creative Labs "Audigy" (or whatever it's called) sound card comes with some form of content protection support so I bought the Philips Acoustic Edge instead.
Dan also created an MPEG version which I have put up on Grokster (same network as KaZaa and Morpheus so you should be able to find it using either of those).

I'll be leaving it up this afternoon and tommorow during the day.
Well, actually.. quicktime is less crappy than windoze mediaplayer.
Media Player v6 isn't bad, but this isn't about players -- this is about a format that locks you into a player. Ask anyone (dumb the question down to baby talk if you have to) and they'll tell you that they'd rather have the option of using whatever player they damn well please rather than being locked into one -- no matter how bad or good it is.
Second, believe it or not but the official MPEG4 standard is based on.... quicktime!!!
Oh great! So does that mean I can play QuckTime flicks using Sasami2k? Oh wait, no it doesn't. It means that buried deep in the heart of the QT format is some small morsel that hasn't been savagely fucked up. Or possibly it means that Apple sucked a lot of dicks up MPEG way so now we all get to pay for it.
Not that not standardised crap like DVIX or so.
Look down your nose at DIVX all you want but at least their strategy isn't based on locking you into any particular player.
Believe it. Coyote Linux is EXTREMELY plug and play. The hardest thing I can imagine you running into would be setting your NICs up on different IRQs (and that can be entirely avoided by using a system with PCI slots and buying PCI NICs).

Can't wait for Spiderman.

And man, it seems like I worshipped Duke Nukem 3D back then.
Hey, who didn't?

No, the banking industry would NEVER run Windows on their ATMs!
Isn't "good fan fiction" similar to "military intelligence"?
Just watch everything else Sam Raimi has directed. Most recently "The Gift" which is best described as "Evil Dead for women".
Also keep an eye out for that Spiderman film next summer.

So what? Skylarov's company wrote spamware!
The cases is more important than than both of these things.

Teoma sucks anyway. It ignores robots.txt and meta tags for deflecting robots. It also doesn't group results.
Besides, Google needs competition to keep them honest.
I think he means "better" as in "not selling search results".
That's enough reason for me to never use a search engine again.
Too bad it's spyware or I'd use it.
I got a lot of mileage out of the Infoseek toolbar back in the day.
Yes, they are crafted. Crafted to clean out all the assholes attempting to abuse the engine into putting their site first.
Crafted search engine results aren't bad when the people doing the crafting think the same way I do.

And what happens when your power goes out for a few hours? Days? Weeks?
Sure, nothing outlasts the Energizer Bunny -- except blackouts caused by hurricanes or power companies run by con artists and hillbillies.

If you have to choose between KaZaA, Morpheus and Grokster definitly choose Grokster.
KaZaA is spyware
Morpheus requires IE
Grokster doesn't require IE (I'm using it with 98lite) and its ads can be blocked with Junkbuster.
Dan also created an MPEG version which I have put up on Grokster (same network as KaZaa and Morpheus so you should be able to find it using either of those).

This exact text was posted the last time a LOTR trailer was released.
