Its in the basement of building 237, in the back by the Pressurized Wind Tunnel. Its amazing the science people did before the computing became so cheap and pervasive.
Actually you can test higher than mach 5. The building I worked in at Ames had a gun tunnel in the basement That tested the shuttle among other things. It would shake the whole building when it went off.

Actually, unless you watch TV with the sound off you can't hear it.
It may work great on a Mac but it blows on WinNT, one can assume that it will be equally crappy on Linux. I use it for Palm development and my major complaint is that it ignores the files on disk and keeps all changes in memory. If you don't want to use their crappy editor (which has no way to make the tab key use spaces, why use any editor but emacs anyway) your life quickly becoes a living hell.
I don't know about replaytv but I saw a demo of the TiVo box and it looks good. The UI is slick, the image quality is OK, comparable to VCR quality. Definatly a order of magnitude improvement over a conventional VCR.
All but one of the original people at diba have split from Sun. The guy running the Diba division is a real idiot. The old building was great. I hear it is on the market.
At diba we did all our original developlement on linux, writing the video and IR drivers on linux, then porting them to the settop when the boards were done. The devices shipped with pSos.
