In your mind, will such currently fantastic theoretical possibilities as exotic matter and closed timelike loops ever be manifested in an exploitable manner?
Dr. Lederman, What are your thoughts on patents? Particularly, what do you think of the practice of patenting genetic discoveries? Is this not analagous to, and just as ridiculous as, patenting a newly found particle? Thank you.
if what you say is true, then, out of curiosity, I must ask -- are you purchasing these goods for personal use, or for resale? If resale, what's your market -- black, consumer gray, what?
How many "viruses" (at least so far as they've been labelled by the media and industry security advisories) lately have been mere scripts taking advantage of weaknesses in the API? (M$'s MAPI especially!!!!!!)
Sorry Spidy, but I'd have to say you're OT rant is a little OT or OR'd itself.
in one aspect, you're entirely correct -- it would be completely unfair to compare the two. however, I was not stating a comparison; rather, I was putting forth the fact that, as the ATI card lacks TnL support, there's no reason to buy one. Instead, wait the 3-5 months.
Geller is, as we all know, a fraud. He alone probably did more to harm the reputation of research into the veracity of potentially psychic occurrences than anyone before or since. However, his likeness is his own to profit from, and any idiot ought to associate a spoon-bending twit figure with Uri Geller, so he would seem to have a case...
Sure it is. It's fair to show that those losers are too stupid to think of anything interesting to do with their computers.:-)
Because of course you simply wouldn't want to accept that these people might be getting almost everything they need or want out of their machines; obviously, they need to be doing something "interesting" in your eyes to validate such users and their OS.
For some people, Win95 is more than they need. So what? It's their money and their box.
Carrey's portrayal of Kaufman was respectable, but brilliant might be stretching it a bit. As far as the ending goes, what was the deal? If Kaufman's dead and Bob was in the audience, who was playing Tony? Is this supposed to imply that Kaufman did indeed fake his own death? Or did the producers realize they needed to hurry up and finish a movie that was starting to drag on beyond reasonable attention spans, and closed with quickness, if not quality?
Thanks for the warning... However, I would be overjoyed if they wasted moderator points on something as stupid as this. And if they do, as I predict some will, I'll abandon my username. No biggie.
Moderators: What the hell did I get moderated down to "Troll" for? Until there is some sort of reasonable explanation, I can only put forth that:/. is full of elitist asshole dipshits (and Mac users). And follow that with: Go ahead, moderate away. I invite you to take your little power trip. C'mon, this is probably one of the few outlets where you, the average computer geek, might have the opportunity to have an influence on a real human life. Flame away!! bunch of fscking morons... probably have nothing better to do anyway... after all, even pr0n gets old.
On several points (5, 6) you seem to be implying that PC means Windows... last I checked PCs have run and continue to run on a lot of other OSes, which I'm hoping I don't actually need to name for you...
Gore has claimed during a 1999 interview with CNN's Wolf Blitzer that "During my service in the United States Congress, I took the initiative in creating the Internet." The preliminary discussions for the creation of the Internet took place in 1967 and, in 1969, the Defense Department commissioned the creation of the "Arpanet." Gore was 2l years old at the time and it would be eight more years before he was elected to the US House of Representatives.
Gore's an idiot, no matter which way you look at it.
for some reason I doubt that zdnet has too much to fear from the slashdot effect, rendering a directed use of the slashdot effect "on an article that doesn't speak the party line" useless.
As the article states: "Ocean tides will be exceptionally high and low that day" read the article -- THEN post. sorta like pull down your pants -- THEN take the dump.
The following store may have IBM keyboards like the one described in the post. However, I must note that: 1. The store is a secondhand dealership that might often make use of questionable business practices, (I might have worked there in the past, I may know what makes the place tick) and 2. The owner might have spent time in a Georgia "shock camp" for a felony conviction on possession and sale of stolen computer equipment.
If the above two potentialities fail to dissuade, then said IBM keyboards may be acquisitable at: The Park Avenue Trading Post Rochester, NY (14607? 14620? 14613? check Big Yellow or the like)
Too bad backorder is the name of the G400 game ...

TnL What more can I say? Oh, maybe: Voodoo5

you think they don't rake in millions in advertising/sponsorships? yeah, DotComGuy Inc. is a fscking pauper corporation, I'm sure.
Sure it is. It's fair to show that those losers are too stupid to think of anything interesting to do with their computers. :-)

Well put
most people want their computer to be safe from DOS
:-) DOS is such an evil bastarization of CP/M and Unix(r).
Ergo this discussion of MacOS
DOS = Denial Of Service, not Disk Operating System
is this a stack issue, or a higher level software issue? the patch Apple offers is specifically for Open Transport 2.5.2 ...
truly, is s/w being written because the OS is popular, or is the OS popular because the s/w is being written?

without the pc, e-commerce would not exist as we know it, nor would the 'net
ok, let's try:
Read the post. Then reply. Sorta like, check your foot out, THEN shove it up your a$$.

Some people just don't have a complete grasp on the depths of profound sarcasm. Or, in some cases, not-so-profound, bluntly posed sarcasm.
