Yes, but math requires knowledge. From firsthand experience I can tell you how easy it is to bullshit a language arts paper just by throwing the word "symbolism" around.

True, but then again I do not believe that it takes a remarkable amount of talent or skill to create a hammer. The way I see it, payment is a form of respect. I respect the talent and skill of an artist, so I am willing to give him more of a profit margin than I would to buy a hammer. Have you ever sat down and tried to write a song? It's really not easy at all. And if you don't think the artist has any skill, there is an easy solution. Don't buy the music from that artist.

I'm currently at a Georgia public high school. The situation has changed a little, you can now top off at AP Calculus AB or BC. Not that half of what you learn beforehand is relevant in the first place. Algebra 2 was about 50% Alg 1 review, 10% new material, and 40% geometry crap that seemed to have no purpose than busy work. Apparently pre-calc is the same way too.

Yes, but the cost of purchasing the software is only part of the equation. What about training costs? Most people are quite familiar with MS Office, but I would say less than 10% of the kids would know how to use OO, and the percentage for teachers would be even less.

I wouldn't think funding would be an issue for the company if they were legit. Wouldn't a lot of VCs be interested in a $150 Linux laptop?

If you can afford to pay $500 for a phone, spending another $80 probably isn't that big of a deal for you.

Amen, bro. These guys are trying to live the American dream. Come here poor and make a fortune. But somewhere along the way the American Dream switched to being smuggled across the border and taking low-paying jobs while trying to get the rest of your family to come over, and then living in poverty with no interest in assimilating. If we want America to stay ahead, we need to take the bright minds into this country before they find another opportunity.

First off, fortified cockpits have are a good solution. What if the pilots were the first one on the plane, and sealed the door like a Fort Knox Safe as soon as they boarded? Let them carry a weapon and there is no way a terrorist could get through. And we have found evidence of WMDs. Try doing some Googling. See the weapons labs we have discovered and notice how several Iraqis have admitted Hussein took the weapons out of the country before the invasion. We have seen him gas his own people, of course he has weapons. A fair portion of the chemical weapons we know Saddam owned are now gone. Isn't that the slightest bit alarming, that we cannot account for substances with the potential to kill entire cities? I will admit I am not a huge fan of Bush. But there isn't always the best man when it comes to the President. In a choice between Bush or Kerry, I felt Bush was a much better candidate. I wish we would see a Constitutionalist candidate, but I doubt that will happen for a while. And are you an actual American? Do you actually know what it's like to be an American, or are you generalizing based on all of the anti-American sentiment? Have you heard of groups such as the ACLU which protest these things all the time and gain widespread media attention?

I think his anger stems from the fact that he feels TSA security checkpoints are completely inefficient. Many of them seem to routinely fail tests, and a number of threats still seem to get through. After all, the shoe bomber was stopped by passengers and not at the security checkpoint. At the same time, the Federal Air Marshals are probably some of the best trained LEO personnel out there. What explains this? TSA officers start off making about $8 or $9 an hour last time I checked. FAMs get paid much more, and receive more in depth training. If we want the TSA officers to be better, then we have to be prepared to pay for experts instead of hiring massive numbers of semi-competent individuals.

What about XFire? I know it isn't widely adopted, but I can see what all my friends are playing, check out profiles, and join the server my friend is on. The cross platform part isn't possible with XFire, but that isn't a problem for me. I cannot afford a 360 anytime soon, so I don't have much interest in the console world right now.
