Ditto all the foregoing comments re: virginmobile. 4 or so years of very happy service. Pisser that I moved out of their coverage area. Tracphone is astro-freaking-nomical, their customer service sucks and their reps are ruder than satan with a hangover.

But it creates such a wonderful opportunity for another government data base. If you're really lucky you can get on both the NO FLY list and the NO WORK list.

We need to re-boot government instead of adding more programs trying to fix the corrupted ones. Go back to the source code (Articles of Confederation), recompile our operating system and re-install it without 200+ years of bloatware.

I'm actually kind of worried about this guys diet. I don't see many actual grocery store receipts. From the look of the meals he eats, he has a rather high fat / calorie dense / junk food diet. Maybe he should add a feedback section so we can send him lifestyle advice.

His wardrobe probably needs to be updated as well. I see no transactions at any nice mens clothing stores ...

I suppose this is to limit opposition from MS and crew, but it's a bad idea. How's going to audit every document to be sure they're in sync?

I hope you're right. I don't see how looking like a bunch of Orwellian thugs is good for them. Even if "any publicity is good publicity", this looks like a surefire loser.

Is it becoming clear to the American people yet that we need a major change in our government?

I agree with much of your assessment and I would remind you and others that these kinds of shenanigans have been around a long time. Very recently (in '02) New Jersey democrats and the NJ Supreme Court illegally replaced candidate Torricelli with Frank Lautenberg when it became clear that Torricelli couldn't win. A quick search gave me this reference: http://www.american-partisan.com/cols/2002/yoho/qt r4/1004.htm. Feel free to look for a less partisan version.

The so-called "two party system" should really be called the "Single Party Mega-System".

Imagine a world where your senator voted for what your STATE really wanted, and not for what their party line said they should

Simply don't re-elect a politician to office. One term and out and let them live with the consequences of their actions.

Given the timing of their lawsuit, wouldn't the Doctrine of Laches apply? They could have filed suit well in advance of an actual election day.

    Laches

    n. the legal doctrine that a legal right or claim will not be enforced or allowed if a long delay in asserting the right or claim has prejudiced the adverse party (hurt the opponent) as a sort of "legal ambush." Examples: a) knowing the correct property line, Oliver Owner fails to bring a lawsuit to establish title to a portion of real estate until Nat Neighbor has built a house which encroaches on the property in which Owner has title; b) Tommy Traveler learns that his father has died, but waits four years to come forward until the entire estate has been distributed on the belief that Tommy was dead; c) Susan Smart has a legitimate claim against her old firm for sexual harassment, but waits three years to come forward and file a lawsuit, after the employee who caused the problem has died, and the witnesses have all left the company and scattered around the country. The defense of laches is often raised in the list of "affirmative defenses" in answers filed by defendants, but is seldom applied by the courts. Laches is not to be confused with the "statute of limitations," which sets specific periods to file a lawsuit for types of claims (negligence, breach of contract, fraud, etc.).
