I chose Doom in my browser, programed in Flash with no music, but supporting the original WASD key commands for character movement.

I'm not entirely sure how you can truly enjoy Doom without the music. Hell, I know for a fact that I at least have the infamous E1M1 background track on my MP3 player.

Exactly! Especially entertainment! Entertainment has no inherent value, as it is not needed to survive. Thus it cannot command a price.

You don't think that consoles games see high level of piracy as well? It requires a lot less runaround to play pirated games on my Wii than it does to jump through the hoops of PC warez. Maybe developers should actually try making games worth playing and not over charging for them? The title mentioned in the article doesn't do much to illustrate the trends, as I've never even heard of it before.

Because he's right. The best thing a university education is going to get you is a mundane, predictable life. The worst you'll end up with is no job and a ton of debt. Most people are fine with those options and seem to seek them out, but to say that universities are need for real education is little more than brainwashed sentiments echoing about. You don't go to college to learn, you go there for a little piece of paper that substantiates your claims of knowledge in a field. No one learns, they just go through the motions.

I understand completely. I live in a rural area myself. I have a old Chevy truck sitting out behind the house. V8, four-wheel-drive. It pulls greats, but is lucky to get any more than 15-20mpg. But you know what? It's nice to be able to haul my own gravel when the driveway gets washes out every couple years. And it gets me to work for a month or two every winter when the roads are covered in snow.

Outside of those specialized circumstances however, I tend to stick with much smaller vehicles. I actually use a 1972 Super Beetle as my daily driver. Those Cobalts are pretty nice though, I had a Cavalier for years. They're a little too complicated for me to work on myself in the driveway though. ;)

Thousands upon thousands of crimes go unsolved every day. If you do it correctly, no one ever even thinks to investigate it in the first place. The number of crimes that are solved are definitely in the minority, and usually only come about byway of accident. Shows like CSI are little more than propaganda, fooling the masses into believing that the police will find you no matter what.

Yes, actually I do. At least here in America, getting one's driving license is too easy. Fill in a few test answers and drive through a few cones. The initial education and test should be far more difficult, and you should be re-tested every few years.

Of course, you also have to wonder about America's obsession with automatic transmissions and needlessly large vehicles.
