Q: Why would the pope speak at such a university?
A: Well, the Catholic Church... specifically founded the institution in the 1300's. (Many might be surprised to find out how our glorious university systems as we know them today came to be.)
As for all the comments on Galileo: The guy got himself into trouble... not because of his studies in science... but because of his attempts at theology. Hardly a person seems to realize that Copernicus was a Catholic Priest... and did not stir up the trouble that Galileo did.
Instead of and additive "printer" I have built a subtractive "printer" (aka CNC milling machines)

Even though you too are red green colorblind... it does not mean that you are seeing it the same way as the parent. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Color_blindness#Congenital_color_vision_deficiencies Besides... its fairly simple to design a website or chart that makes things easy for even those who are color blind.
I too am color blind... Honestly, I can't tell if the negatives and positives are mixed together when I look at it. (Not that I am fluent in reading the chart anyway!)
Parent makes a very good point. Take all the recent news about Mother Teresa... her emotions...desolation and lack of feeling certainly were not what caused to her to "feel" God. Anyone who basses a religion, moral ground, philosophy or theology on feelings is going to be on quite the roller coaster ride of beliefs.
Cruise missiles with nuke warheads were attached to the bomber. No doubt it was a HUGE erroneous mistake that the warheads were not removed. However keep in mind that if the bomber crashed, no nuclear detonation would have happened. If the bomber had been "called into action" (which alone would probably not happen) and if the bomber was instructed to fire off a cruise missile, there still would not be a nuclear detonation. The nuclear warhead is not armed with a simple pull of a trigger... there are physical safeguards in place to prevent that from happening.
The article makes some assumptions on what the pope might say. That is not to be confused with what the pope has done or said already. But I guess guessing about what someone is going to do makes great news. Moving on....
The article focused mostly on tax evasion that is taking place in the Italian Government. So the pope writes about how tax evasion is wrong. Is this news? Since when was tax evasion a good thing??! Maybe... it works like this... since the pope plans to say something is wrong... it must be good!
I saw a 6 year old Solaris Sparc running empty, so I asked if I could use it. The answer was go for it. I remote in and do some development stuff on it as well as run a web server and database from it.
For years, data carriers have confronted the "last hundred yards" problem for delivering data from local networks into individual homes. Hmm... suppose this mean I am still going to get shitty service.

Shucks... I was hoping for something about Cobra Commander. At least Spiderman....
So I decided to type in the number into my calculator... and just for the heck of it, I flipped it upside down!!

Meh... I have heard crystal clear voices coming from my incisors for awhile now.
Wow... I got "first post" with my very first registered account post, on the first of April. Think that is a Slashdot first?
