So is this possibly an attempt to establish a legal avenue to go after some of these malware venders? Interestingly also, could malware be consider prior art?
Generally drives in this class in the 70+GB range run anywhere from ~$10,000 - ~$15,000 each. I wouldn't look for this in your local PC shop anytime soon. These are still really HPC only items and are designed for extreme work loads. Not just booting linux or windows faster.
Google will be handling all of the technical aspects of this. So like many of the other RNC videos already available for Linux only users, the convention will likely be carried via YouTube or Google Videos.
Comments like yours are the typical non-productive dribble which has gotten this country into such a mess to begin with.
So you can build a low power, wall-wart based micro cluster. At the end of the day to reach the same computing power of any low-end cluster, you're going to end up spending many times more on these little devices vs. commodity hardware. Additionally the mini-ITX market isn't huge, so why do we need more players in it?
That said, why would anyone buy one of these things for a desktop use when you can pick up the sub-notebook laptops with screen, keyboard, and mouse for roughly the same price?
So for how long did you know that Obama supported the war in Iraq and/or illegal wiretapping? Why didn't you share his REAL intentions with those of us who were under the impression that he would CHANGE those policies?
This is clear. This is because like McCain, Obama is a manufactured candidate puppet with a poll and focus group driven message.
Focus group says you need to vote for FISA to appear to move more to the middle and bolster national security credentials then Obama does.
With all the Dark fibre out there, this should be a lot less of a problem. In most cases the issue the last mile, and in many cases this last mile can easily be handled by other already deployed networks, i.e. cable, bell, wimax, etc.
This is less of a problem if you're using a clustered file system (lustre.org) for instance. We generally see anywhere from 80 to 140 gigbytes a second over large clusters.
Additionally 10gige, iWarp, and IB cards are NOT cheap and the simple hardware (switches, etc) to connect them together are even more pricey. This kind of speed is still really commercial only, and is completely impractical for the average China special PC user.
I guess the interesting thing to consider is with all this extra space, is it really needed in the PS3. To my knowledge the PS3 is not powerful enough to even take minimal advantage of the huge amount of space provided by blu-ray. Or is this just another way to sell movies.

If only existing computer cases where made of materials which could easily be recycled. Say steal, plastic, and aluminum. When will we learn!

Yet Another Reason to Disallow Software Patents. Copyrights do a fine job covering software related rights issues. This kind of garbage has to stop.

I thought I saw something a few years ago about this on discovery science discussing this same thing. I'm not so sure how 'new' this theory really is.
