We are finding many green technologies don't come close to delivering results that will make significant improvements in the environment....especially CO2.
Lets face it, many green technologies are actually bad for the environment right now because they are defined as green in a theoretical future in which the support structure for this technology is green as well. Example: the electric car.
Latest study is in on the UK, Carbon Output and Energy Consumption Exploded as a result of banning Incandescent Bulbs.
The study found that banning the Incandescent bulbs with subsidies for CFLs had the perverse affect of enabling people to go out and spend the money on other activities that emit more CO2 than what was saved resulting in a net increase in CO2 emissions.
The example given in the study, if a home owner only took the average savings for using CFLs and purchased beer, his net carbon footprint would be increased totally erasing any benefit gained.

GE is pissed that the Cap and Trade bill didn't pass, that killed them. This is a consolation prize of sorts at everyone else's expense.

If you look at the stations, it is possible to cherry pick and prove anything.
From a statistical purity point of view though, the best stations to choose for analysis would be the ones that haven't moved, aren't near an urban area, and have had continuous data collected.
That is the charge, CRU did the exact opposite which would in the least be statistical malpractice.

This is political and not scientific. Any press release right before a summit on climate that makes such disastrous claims has to be assumed to be demonstrably false.
In my mind, the 1st world is financed all on credit. China and India are the ones with all the cash. In fact, to even attempt to mitigate co2, we have to borrow the money.
