I don't believe that inspiration is patentable, or even copyrightable... Yes, they did cause a revolution in phone design, but they did not invent a lot with the iPhone(if they invented anything at all). Bringing existing technologies to the market is also not patentable.
Nokia did start the battle, but contrary to what Apple did they originally only asked the court to set the price for their patents(read the damn complaint, but this is./...). Apple, however, went for the throat with plain patent violation lawsuit.
But last time I checked, neither Christian fractions had such big problems with another like the Shia vs Sunni. The assassins are the best example of that "feud". In violence Catholicism vs Reformation is a better analogy to Shia vs Sunni.
Islam can't get a reformation, because it's not a unified religion, like catholic church. The only thing that unifies all of Muslims is the Quran. Same goes for Eastern Orthodox Christians. There is no pope or equivalent in Eastern Orthodoxy, each country/region has it's own patriarch(akin to a pope).
There are at least 2 countries on this planet that have successfully "contained" and/or "integrated" Muslims into their cultures and societies. See China and Russia for reference. Germany and France may not be able to do it because of the inexperience in multiculturalism and religious freedoms. Europe has been a religion tolerant region only for the last 100 years. Russia has had a considerable amount of Muslims as part of it for the last 500 years.

Maybe you should get your facts right...
The processors in the mainframes are not the same Power 7 processors that run @ 6GHz. The mainframe CPUs are actually quite slow as clocks go. And they aren't even called Power CPUs, but z9 or z10 CPU.
That was actually in line what IBM was doing at the time. IBM's exit from the consumer market at the same time as Apple switched to Intel. I think that was a decision made on both sides.
PS: IBM's Power CPU's are not the same as PowerPC CPU's. And IBM most probably makes much more on selling Power CPU's in servers than all of Apple's licensing income.
Now that is totally unbased.... The Android on Snapdragon vs iPad on A4 browser based tests from Anadtech are useless. Because the same tests on Android Froyo(2.2) are 2x faster than those of iPad and 2.3 x faster than Eclair(2.1).
So? They added something else to their device and ended up with a bit bigger die and components are in slightly different places. That means very little, since all of the die layouts are done automatically these days by CAD software. It still can be the same device, just with additional components.
Most of EU still has not realized that high taxes kill entrepreneurship
Nope, the biggest killer of entrepreneurship is instability. I had a chance to talk to people that are working in startups, and even starting startups, the main problems are the complexity of the tax systems and the taxes themselves are of little concern.
It's revolutionary when someone else fails to start a revolution with their idea and it just languishes until you take it up and start a revolution in the industry with it.
They may be revolutionary, but their outright lying that they invented stuff is just too much. See multitouch quote in 2007, the last time they presented something truly revolutionary.
Android market can get segmented quickly in terms of display resolutions and hardware capabilities
That is simply false. Coming from a person that does no know where the fragmentation comes from. Android's H/W issues are not issues for reasonably smart developers*, and those that have issues with screen sizes you don't want near you device.
The fragmentation is at the API level, that in some cases is very drastic... Though still manageable.
* - I've developed graphics heavy apps for Android that work perfectly well on different screen sizes, and the platform widgets are not affected by the screen size issues whatsoever.
That is the whole problem, because patents were not intended to be applied to users of said invention, but only to protect the inventor against copycats.
And how does US get the 19th place in the Transparency International's corruption rankings, I have no idea.....

I am an Android fanboy and develop for it. But I sincerely hope that iPhone doesn't die, but rather becomes more open so that everyone can win....

Most places where sane people are willing to visit would never deport to a country that has the death penalty.
That's what we call progress for Pakistan.

Well maybe you could become a great investigative journalist and uncover the real conditions and suicide rates in other Chinese factories.

Last time I checked UMTS is the general term for all of the GMS descendant 3G network systems. Including HSDPA, HSUPA and HSPA+.
EU is not even a confederation...

Why?... Oh, why!?!?!?!?!?! Do they put those streets exactly where I am or need to go!!!!!
Respect my authoritah!!!

If they do that, they will loose a very big chunk of the market. So it's not in their interest to drop the Windows lock-in option.

Wow, there! Patents protect exactly against reverse-engineering, that is the whole idea behind patents. Copyright does not.
