  2. Re:Uhm.. on SCO Extorting Unixware Licenses to Linux Users? · · Score: 1

Along the lines of IBM being the crumpler, it would be interesting to see Fortune 1000 companies donate to the "IBM liberation of linux fund". Yes, I'm well aware that IBM has the largest coffers in high-tech. But the act alone would send a statement to SCO, "Sorry Can't Oblige."

  3. No mention of the vendor Linux Networx on 10-TFlop Computer Built from Standard PC Parts · · Score: 1

It's sad that as much as Bernard Daines has done over the years to create newsworthy press for EE Times that they can't even mention his company has put this together.

  5. Do it for her you selfish nit! on Diamonds - Are They Really Worth the Cost? · · Score: 1, Insightful

You spend ~$2k for a machine that crunches numbers and lets you escape into a virtual fantasy world for a few hours a day. The machine is outdated and depreciated when you buy it, and it just gets worse as time goes by.

The diamond on her finger reminds her of the moment she fell in love with you. The good times you share with her, and her undying devotion to you.

Do it for her! Put a price on how it will make her feel. If she understands how you feel about making the purchase... ALL THE MORE REASON TO DO IT FOR HER... show her you understand how she feels.

  7. Consider Massage Therapy on What Do You Do To Relieve Lower Back Pain? · · Score: 1

I'm lucky to be located near the American Institute of Clinical Massage. The students there have to have clinical hours, so for the past 2 years I've been getting 50 min. massages at the school for $15 each. I've done chiropractics, physical therapy... and honestly the only thing for my forearm, back and neck pain... not too mention the stress headaches... is massage. If you're in the Spokane, WA - Coeur D'Alene, ID area call AICM at 208-457-8909 and tell them Tyler Bye sent you.

  11. ASP based Help Desk on Web-Based Helpdesks? · · Score: 3

I've written a simple help desk tracking system in ASP. It's nothing too complicated... and I never got around to finishing the reporting features, however it is great for keeping a paper trail of all the requests that come into the helpdesk, and a history of tasks performed to solve the issue.

It is all setup for some in depth reporting, and it's ASP so I don't claim it.

I'd be happy to post it for interested parties. Just contact me at my email... remember to nuke the spam proofing before you mail me.

I went to that location today and they gave me my refund there at the store. I just had to provide the credit card the unit was purchased with... how about them apples?
