Yeah, Rush is a "liar", so I guess that those ELF freaks didn't really cause all that damage. I guess that guy didn't really plead the fifth. Funny, though, how I watched him do it on TV.

The arrogant hypocrisy is astounding, to say the least. These ELF people claim to be so righteous when it comes to the environment, but what do they do? Pollute! That's right-just what the hell do you think burning a large ski resort to the ground produces? Lots and lots and lots of smoke, which goes in the air and contributes to pollution. But, I guess it's okay, since after all, they're just "thinking globally and acting locally". What a friggin' crock.

But, of course, it's all because Rush is a liar, right? Give me a break. And upsize it, please.

First off, exactly where do you think that the 100-year old trees came from in the first place? Saplings, maybe? But I guess an "old" tree is better than a "new" tree, right?

And quite frankly I don't GIVE A FUCK about some corporate 'sponsered' (read: EPA made them do it and/or they are making a profit out of it in the long run) program to replant trees

So, let me get this straight...trees that are planted by some "corporate" entity aren't as good as other trees that are planted? Ohhhhhhh....I get it now! It's not about the trees at all, is it? It's about attacking the "evil oppressive capitalist pigs" or some crap like that!

Once again, we see so-called 'environmentalism' exposed as a mere tool for class warfare. That ends our lesson for today.

Yes, thank you! It's about time someone actually judged the language on its *merits*, and not who produced it!

Every time I see a language advocacy debate, it amazes me how quickly it goes from "language X has this feature, while language Y does not", et. al., into "corporation X, who produces language X, is pure evil, so language X sucks" or whatever. It kinda reminds me of a local movie critic who uses his film "reviews" as a bully pulpit to whine and bitch about every aspect of life that he doesn't like. It really gets annoying to read through his drivel when really, all you want to know is how good the movie is. Same deal here.

As far as the "unsafe" code that C# allows one to write, call me a cynic, but if this were allowed in Java (or any other non-M$ product for that matter), I wonder how many of the same people that are badmouthing it now would be calling it a "cool feature" that "allows great flexibility", yadda yadda yadda....

Okay...I'm gonna go over this ONE more time, and hopefully...I say, hopefully...you will get it.

You originally stated that Fox news does not research their stories as much as CNN. This was your statement, your argument, your claim. And, as any debate instructor worth his or her salt will tell you, when you put forth an argument, it is your burden to support that argument. The burden of proof lies with YOU, not the opposition.

However, you have provided exactly ZILCH in the way of corroborating evidence to support your claim, but instead have resorted to shrill and capricious ranting about who owns what, which has nothing whatsoever to do with this, and you somehow think that the responsibility to provide the facts which support or refute your spurious claims lies with everyone else.

BZZZZZT. Sorry. That answer is unacceptable. Now, calm down, stop your ranting about Disney, Bat Boy, and the military industrial complex, and try to come up with some rational, logical evidence that supports what you originally said. Think you can do that? Well, I guess we shall see.

I, for one, am not holding my breath in anticipation.

Damn right, it's the old "Provide proof on paper" argument, and I'm still waiting to see some. You made the claim, you provide the evidence to back up that claim. See, *that's* how it works - not by demanding that those who question your claim provide proof to the contrary - they didn't advance the argument in the first place. Although, I must admit, Jesse Jackson uses your tactic with great success when he undertakes one of his racial extortion schemes against some company with big coffers.

As far as the "bigfoot" business goes, sure, Murdoch owns those kinds of publications. You are absolutely correct. So what? Beside that, exactly what does that have to do with Fox News? Associating Fox News with the ubiquitous "bigfoot" story is like associating the show "Not Necessarily the News" from the old TBS days with CNN (and yes, I LIVED in Atlanta, and I'm pretty familiar with the Turner history, so don't EVEN...). Or any stupid thing a Braves player does. Or some crap on one of Turner's old billboards from the days when he ran that company. Or, dare I even mention it, ANYTHING that comes out of good ol' Hanoi Jane's mouth. So, my friend, if you want to play the "guilt by association" game, I'm afraid that you are already at a disadvantage, and insulting my perception of history or my attention span is not going to change that.

When judging an amp or piece of gear, just *listen* to the damn thing, and don't worry about whether it's tube driven/solid state/digital modeling or whatever. The bottom line is, does the thing sound good? If it does, buy it and own it. If it doesn't, don't. Yes, it's pretty much that simple.

One thing that I can't *stand* is when people get all religious about gear, i.e., the old "if it's not vintage, it's crap" BS. Whatever. I've heard some "vintage" gear that sounds like two cats fighting, and I've heard some new solid state stuff that sounds wonderful. And vice versa.

Best Buy paid to have those stores built. They didn't try to extort new stores out of the city before they closed their doors.

I wouldn't have that much of a problem with contraction except for the fact that these pro sports teams invariably hold their host cities hostage for what is essentially a rent-free building where they can do business. Where else is there an example of that?

And, speaking of ridiculous, monopolistic, totalitarian behavior, how about the friggin' NCAA? I know that it wouldn't get very far, but I always thought it would be cool if some football player who got fucked by one of the NCAA's ego trips filed an antitrust action against 'em.
