  1. VISTA 64bit is Better than XP 64bit on Steam Survey Takes PC Gaming's Pulse · · Score: 3, Informative

My gaming rig is running vista. Let me explain first that 64bit vista is leaps and bounds better than 64bit XP. So my powerhouse computer when it isn't gaming can put that 64bit goodness to use in the realm of digital audio, and CAD. On the otherhand- I have 4 gigs of ram and an O.Ced E6600. I see so many users with their new laptops that really shouldn't be running vista on their half gig of ram. etc.

  2. Just to clarify on Stopping Cars With Microwave Radiation · · Score: 1

for those who say this could be used to conveniently shut off an offenders car at a speed trap, it more likely frys the electronic control module, so that now you have a dangerous/(possibly moving) quite inconveniant roadblock.

  3. Windows on Fat32, HA on OS X Leopard Ships On October 26th · · Score: 1

I like how a selling point for bootcamp is that Leopard can read and write to Window's (FAT32) partition, not NTFS. Yes, go ahead and install windows vista on a fat32, see what happens.

  4. Guys you are missing the point. on The Importance of Portal · · Score: 1

A lot of people are saying this isn't really art, there is no character development, it is essentially a short story etc. Ok, are these the same people who criticize Edgar Allen Poe because we barely get to meet the characters before the simplistic plot is over? Rubbish.

  5. I thought it read John Coltrane on Jonathan Coulton Track Part of the Orange Box · · Score: 1

Was wondering why they would put a jazz track in the Orange Box, Blue Train anyone?

  6. New mobos? on First R600 Review - The Radeon HD 2900XT · · Score: 1

So when will we start seeing HD 2k series motherboards? I'm especially interested in using my x1800 xt (or any 1k series card) to handle physics in parallel with a new 2k series card.

  7. Anyone got a good UK proxy? on BBC To Create 'Catch-Up TV Player' · · Score: 1

I'm an American in the U.K. doing an internship. I know currently you need to register with the channels to watch tv online (simulcast)- registration only requires a valid postal address (easily forged). And a U.K. ip/isp address. It also checks your ip/isp when you start the links, and you authenticate. But I'm assuming us Americans who want to watch Doctor Who, Hollyoaks, Peepshow etc. just need a good U.K. proxy. Pretty simple- minus the 5-7 hour time change. So this could be great, we wouldn't be forced to watch friday night shows on friday afternoon. Get what i'm sayin?

  8. Maybe on Apple Sued For Using Tabs In OS X Tiger · · Score: 5, Funny

What a joke. Maybe they should go and get the manilla folder people in on this too, because of their ingenious system of tabbed browsing.

  9. Funny 404 on Botnet on Botnet Action · · Score: 4, Funny

Got a good couple 404 error from slashdot on this page before anyone had commented, I thought the bots had a foothold.

  10. Sunshine on Oil Soaked Servers Coming Soon · · Score: 1

They had nice shiny mainframe racks submerged in fancy coolant in the new sunshine movie. Just make sure IT doesn't make it too easy for a villain to walk by and raise the racks out- which ironically then frys them.
