Why don't they target lame games like pokemon or other pansy games as well, that have the potential of turning children gay when they get older?
"Warning: This video contains extremely gay content. Any attempt to recreate any action portrayed on this game may lead to homosexual tendencies. Use with caution."
There were killing sprees way before video games had violence in them. I remember seeing the clock tower massacre, which I'm sure is way before any video game was even created. What a joke. Why don't they work on laws to prevent parents from using video games as baby-sitters as well?
Indeed. They usually vote on whatever the loudest voice on their wing chooses. Whether or not the issue is RIGHT or WRONG, doesn't matter... as long as they vote the same as the rest of their party.
The same benchmarks and "pre-configured" tests were run by Intel when the Conroe was first introduced. AMD fanboi's all gathered together to say the same garbage about the tests and later ended up finding out that benchmarks were probably higher than Intel's supposed "fake" tests.
After the smoke cleared and Intel's tail lights were no longer visible, they gathered together again to say, "Well.. floating points, memory bandwidth and real-time memory hogging applications are all that matter nowadays anyway."
What will the excuse be this time when Intel lies about benchmarks that they rigged, only to find out the lie was... the benchmarks were low.
Exactly. I'm going to admit, I'm guilty. I'll also admit that I've gone through extra steps aside from just attaching to an open wifi network to get service while travelling... but, I don't think it has much to do with morals, like you said. Well, stealing by force.. maybe. But, I never said I had high morals.
A chimp writes, "Those damned dirty humans keep shoving probes up our asses to find out if we evolved faster than they did. They should leave us alone and let us fling our poo."
So, the Parabolic dish I use for the connection I use across the street is illegal?
I really don't understand how someone who is smart enough to figure out when someone is borrowing some broadband, just leaves their WiFi open? Granted, if you don't want to use WPA, WEP is better than nothing, right?
I just can't believe someone would go through all that trouble of getting someone arrested, and they were too lazy to do some simple security measures.
It's like sitting $100 bucks on the road in front of your house, expecting nobody to pick it up, then arresting the person who picked it up. It's not theirs, of course, but morals run thin when it's that easy to attain.
I understand your point about keeping it within reach of the people who really need it. I just came from a newspaper that had a support contract through them that was well in the 6 digits. Unfortunately, when I wanted to start doing my own graphics work rather than grunt design for crap pay, I ended up having to buy a couple copies. At the time, I'm quite sure the price was actually even more than what it is now. It hurt my financial situation quite a bit when starting out, but, it's the standard and you basically have to use it to get the job done right and quick.
I also have to say that the suite is probably among the top pirated software bundles in existance. There isn't a person I know that doesn't have it... and I can guarantee I'm the only one that is actually licensed. Granted, they're not making money from using it and don't have as much to lose.
Considering that it's more than just an Elite or small amount of people that use it, you would think that dropping the price substantially would increase in sales dramatically. But, I honestly don't think they work that way. There ARE millions that use it illegally, but I'm sure quite a few of them would actually buy the software if it were reasonable (and elements blows, it's not even a consideration.). I just DON'T think that Adobe is hurting that bad, especially considering the latest Macromedia buyout, that they need to charge that much. That's just my opinion.
This is no flame on you by any means. I truely do understand what you're saying and respect your opinion as well. I just think that Adobe has grown enough to ease up a bit more on the price, compared to when they were starting out.... because they basically OWN the graphics industry now.
Yet another reason why Microsoft would probably be able to compete if they came out with a product a bit more useable than elements at a comparable price.
Being one who came from Newspaper and Photography roots, I'd have to say that Adobe hasn't got a lot of room to talk when it comes to Monopolies. Granted, Microsoft is the big winner in that field.. but Adobe is set as a standard for basically every Graphics and Photo editing establishment on the planet. Not only that, they charge an ignorant amount for their software as well.
The only way that Microsoft can compete in this, would be to offer something with the same features and do it for a fraction of the cost. But, I've used most of the new Microsoft Graphic toys, and Adobe has nothing to worry about. They're very basic, and will get the job done for those who want an alternative. The web design pieces will be substantially cheaper than anything adobe has to offer, but I'm sure there are open-sauce versions that will have the same functionality.
You proved your own case study. You proved your own arrogance and superiority to support your own cause and try to prove a point, that showed your OWN colors. YOU are the scum you talk about. YOU are better than everyone else because you believe that you're smarter. Do you think that people look up to you when you speak about the subjects that you do? Your philosophy and REDICULOUS outlook makes ME look bad? YOU compared an entire country to ignorance because of a choice in a browser and I'm the one who's ignorant?
Stay behind your keyboard and come up with conspiracy theories and conjure words of hate against the MAN and corporate world.
ROCK ON killer! You're SUPERIOR to all of us! I'm ignorant and you're cool. I really wish I wouldn't have grown up SO stupid and American. I wish my government wouldn't have made me SO stupid. I wish I COULD BE LIKE YOU!!! THEN, and ONLY then, would I be able to fight the man and all the other ignorant Americans around me. I really wish I was DEAD!
Thanks for your insight, I must go read my children a bed-time story and teach them to grow up and get an education like Mr. Mattucus and fight the man for the cause of Justice and anti-american ignorance.
Let me guess, you're in college and know everything... right?
I agree. Because 10 of the 100 total PC's in Herzoswania are firefox doesn't mean that 90 of them are ignorant scum that don't know anything. It's more along the lines of those who can actually afford them, know quite a bit about computers and have insight toward new software and installing new programs.
In the US, millions have computers, whether they know much about them or not. It's not that they're so ignorant that they can't feed themselves or are oblivious to the world around them, but more along the lines of buying a computer for their kids to do school work on, or even companies buying PC's with windows and not allowing software that cannot be used without technical support.
When you start realizing how many people buy them for home use, rather than true love for computers and knowledge, the numbers add up.
My brother was one of those pathetic (as he describes) people who went to war and worked on electronic systems in F18's and EA6B's. He came home and played games on his computer, used IE and went back to work to design missile troubleshooting software, and later developed a compressed version of a type of guidance board for some rediculous aircraft equipment. He again came home to his family and eventually went to work at Siemens to engineer ultrasound equipment.
BUT, because he's American and doesn't use firefox, he's obviously ignorant.
I think that America is so ignorant because we have so many people revolving around the media, rather than realizing what's right. Whether something is right or wrong doesn't matter as long as it supports their political wing. But, that's my theory.
And you forgot to leave out: The US is obviously the only place on earth where firefox means you're far superior than anyone else, and if you run it, it gives you the God-given gift to know all there is to know, and treat everyone else as an ignorant American. Way to stand up for your country and make yourself look even more ignorant.
Because you use a different browser, obviously means that you can talk bad about everyone in your own country as if you're the only one that knows anything at all.
WAY TO MAKE A STATEMENT!!! WOOHOO! YOU ARE OFFICIALLY COOL!!!!!!!
Everyone, please..applaud him for his insatiable insight and delicious banter, for he is the almighty anti-American firefox user!!
Great speech. Shouldn't you be somewhere picketting?
I used jazz drives back at an old newspaper I worked at. I guess it's because they must have been used very frequently or moved around quite a bit that caused them to go bad so much. I agree that data tapes are reliable, but they're still annoying as hell to work with.
You can't conceal a shotgun or Rifle which I'm sure is what he was using. Banning a concealed weapon wouldn't have changed the outcome of this in any way.
Besides, most of the weapons that are used in shootings aren't legally kept anyway. Concealed weapons permits are carried by people who go through federal applications and classes. So, again, Having concealed weapons on a school isn't really harming anyone. I doubt many people with concealed weapons permits have ever gone on shooting sprees. Simply because concealed weapons only pertains to handguns, which is not the killing weapon of killing spree choice.
In all honesty, I have more guns than I can count at the moment. I use them for sport and such, but I still feel that guns should be much harder to attain. I feel that the way to control all of this is taking high profile tests and background checks to even be able to own or carry one. And, if you're caught without one of these licenses and are carrying ANY type of gun, regardless if it's a concealed hand weapon... you should be thrown in jail. THIS will stop much of the violence ahead of time.
That list is all Jacked up. Considering the Zune has been out for what, 6 months and it's ranked higher than the Apple Pro Mouse? That thing was beyond annoying. Where are "Jazz" drives on this list? They crashed every month and were garbage. Tape drives aren't on there either! I'm guessing he and his buddies got together and made up the list. I don't argue with most of them, but a product that's been out for 6 months is rated up with Windows ME? I just don't consider some of those "ALL time" annoyances, rather than "recent and minor" annoyances. Just because they're happening now, doesn't mean they're worth being in the all time annoyances.
You got me wrong on a lot of parts... I meant that Apple is an innovator in terms that they had some pretty innovative products in the past. Some tools in OSX, ipod features before anyone else did.... things like that. But, I still don't care for it as much as my Zune.
As for Microsoft following, they're going in the right direction with the Zune and it's features. How anyone can argue that it's not superior to the iPod is blasphemy. I'm just saying they'll follow, because they've been fairly careful about steps they're taking at the moment. I think the WiFi connection they've used in the zune wasn't exactly to just transfer songs, but more along the lines of getting the product out... showing a proof of concept and waiting for someone else to up the ante before they unlock the already existant potential that the zune carries. It wasn't a flame against Microsoft or the Zune in any way... it was more along the lines of MS saying, "here's wifi for ya... once you match it, all we have to do is unlock it."
I used to like the iPod, but there's no way I'd buy another one after using the zune.

Exactly. Chimps are smarter because they don't get fucking married. I myself am guilty of slowing evolution.

Those who wish to check some of them out can visit http://connect.microsoft.com/ to see what I'm talking about.
I catch what you're saying. Good call. I was REALLY confused, simply because I work and live in Dulles.
From AOL, or my IP?
My guess is IBM is laughing it's way all the way to the bank. They manufacture processors for all 3 systems.
Whatever happened to tracking new visitors or original IPs? I'm pretty sure that even the POS hosting company I use has those basic capabilities.

DAMNIT, I wish I wasn't at work and actually checked the news more frequently. The rifle/shotgun error is killing me! ;)
Sorry bout the mistake folks!
MY bad. ;)
Great point with the CCL crime rates and stopping the spree.

Point well taken. But, what percentage of iPod users actually have Macs?

I guess you're right. For YEARS I wondered HOW they knew I needed a penis enlargement. Now I know.
