    Allowing one man to do the work unpaid begrudgingly is not what I'd call supporting a platform.

    They release an officially supported Flash plugin for Linux. Who at Microsoft do I call for Moonlight support on Linux?

    The only thing I've learned is that the price of oil has NOTHING to do with the actual supply or sustainability as a natural resource and is artificially set by non-sequitur geo-political issues.

    The coal plant can be replaced with nuclear, fusion, solar, hydroelectric, etc. Have you ever tried replacing a car's engine with a Dam? It doesn't work so well.

    A bear to recycle? Compared to what? Surely not more of a bear than collecting and recycling everything a gasoline engine spits out over it's lifetime.

    Hacking into your own devices is the only way to get anything useful done.

    Define useful.

    For many the default capabilities of the device and the default development tools/APIs will suffice.

    Name one person who prefers paying for SMS as opposed to sending IMs.

    I like being in control of my hardware, too. It's just damned hard to find vendors who release open source drivers. I'd love to pout together an entire PC with nothing but hardware with open drivers. Got a parts list to this dream PC whose hardware you control?

    Apple users also buy Windows Vista and install it on their Macs, using it instead of OS X, just because they can.

    Hence the popularity of Parallels.

    I just recently re-formatted and re-installed windows, and I'm trying not to bog it down again with crapware like DRM systems that drag down my system performance.
