Who cares about security? AJAX is so slick and it looks so good and you know, customers are so happy. Oh well, maybe they're not but the CEO is because we're so ahead of others in the market with our brand new 3.5MB javascript file.

    Or am I missing something?

Although I'm not a Mac user myself and can't say anything in the matter of usability on Mac OS, I use Firefox on both Windows and Linux mainly because of its extensions as they provide great functionality. Firefox without the plugins is not Firefox anymore, they're one of its most significant features.

I can't see why would AMD want to use Intel's FSB when they have their own. Just for sake of users who can't switch CPUs in their motherboards as they wish? There are as many pros as cons in this situation - user can switch from Intel to AMD but she can also switch the other way around. I'm not familiar with this market and tech involved but it doesn't really sound like a big "WOW" for me.

But it sure is good. It may encourage others to make CPUs without the need to develop their own chipsets, FSBs, motherboards and therefore will bring more competition to the market. ATM we only have two players on the field, right? At least players that matter.

What makes you think paper ballots are more secure than computers? It's not computers that steal your votes, it's people. And the same people can steal or miscount them when using the paper version.

I worked in a vote counting team when there was a voting on whether Poland should join EU and have seen people who wanted to count vote as invalid just because someone wrote "EU SUCKS" on the ballot paper even though there was a mark in the next to "No" field and there was no mark next to "Yes" field. The directives for counting votes were clear about that - the vote is invalid only if there are no marks in the fields, there are marks in both fields, the paper sheet is physically damaged or the seal was not entirely visible. There were 7 people counting besides me and they all wanted to count the vote as invalid, I had to show them the exact quote from the manual.

With paper ballots you give the exact same power to a small portion of population - the counting team. It's all up to them. It's always up to the people.
