  1. Re:You feel old... on MTV: 2007 Borked the Music Industry · · Score: 1

Therein lies the value of the Guitar Hero and Rock Band games. They expose the young people to good music that has stood the test of time. Yeah, there are some regrettable choices in there (AFI, a Fall Out Boy track in Rock Band) but for the most part, everything there is good ol' classic rock. I guess my point is this: my cousin, who just recently turned ten, is into SRV, Clapton, and Alice in Chains because of the Guitar hero franchise. While his friends debate whether or not "Crank Dat Soulja Boy" is better than "Buy You a Drank", he's listening to "Layla". I think he wins.

I'm no legal expert, so I don't actually know if they have a legal reason for suing here. I'm sure there's something in the liscence agreement that prohibits advertisements, though. Regardless, they've banned the two practices (power-levelling and gold-selling) prior to this. Why not just ban the player? Unless this guy was far-and-away the mastermind of all spamming in WoW, I don't see much of a reason to take it beyond an account termination.

Since we're on the topic of controllers here, let's discuss the one for the 360. Um.. There was this console called a "Dreamcast" a while ago. I don't know if you've heard of it, but I think they started making new ones pretty recently. But in all fairness to Microsoft, their console is superior for some games. Nintendo's is superior for others. Why do people have to keep bashing the "competition" when the two companies offer completely different things? All of this "The Wii gives you cancer"/"The 360 hates puppies" crap just mucks up the industry. When companies - you know - care about what gamers want, the population at large wins.
