  1. Re:So much for... on Wikipedia To Require Editing Approval · · Score: 1

I've been editing Wikipedia casually for 6 years (originally actively, then more and more casually as I've been progressively locked out of the community), but an edit count "only" in the hundreds will probably place me in the class of users who can no longer freely edit this class of pages... Now I won't be able to freely contribute either.

Incorrect. You'll be be able edit those articles. If you have an account that's just 4 days old and have at least 10 edits (which can be done in about 15 minutes), then that makes you an "auto-confirmed user" and your edits will immediately be seen by readers. The main reason for this new development is to protect the articles of living people from libel. This will help Wikipedians monitor those articles.

OpenSuSe has, in fact, been dropping in the Distrowatch rankings. The default view shows data from up to 6 months ago. Change that to 3 months, 30 days, or 7 days and you'll see that it's dropped from 3rd (1784) to 4th (1277), a significant difference of ~500. Unscientific, but notable.

Also, check out their web logs. OpenSuse usage has dropped 0.5% from May 2007 to June 2007 on Distrowatch.com However, it's not clear if this is a result of their agreement with Microsoft.

My bad, I misspoke. I meant to say Q4 2008, long after the 10th anniversary. IGN says the game is currently in pre-alpha. It's been reported by many other sources, as well. http://pc.ign.com/articles/790/790158p1.html

I sincerely hope you're wrong. I was devastated when Hellgate announced they'd be charging for online play. If SC2 follows suit, I think I'll just buy the game for its single player.

You have a source for that last claim? The 10th anniversary is April 1, 2008. From the demonstration, officials said the game is in pre-alpha(!) and that nothing in the game is final. I predict it'll be available Q4 2007 at the earliest.
