Another problem for him is that government negotiations don't benefit as much from using other people's money. For example, Trump came out of Atlantic City OK in spite of building the only casino that couldn't manage to turn a profit during the boom there. Of course, he lost a big pile of other people's money. That particular con isn't useful in government.
Come to think of it, that is more or less what just happened with Obamacare-lite. Only he isn't able to leave Ryan holding the bag because political capitol doesn't work like the financial kind.
I agree that this was not the Uber car's fault (after all, that was the official finding). However, failure to avoid an accident never makes it your fault if it was the other driver that violated the rules of the road.
Since the Uber cars have not been at fault in an accident, the best you can hope for is an equally good record unless you can show that the Uber car should have been able to avoid the accident. I don't think there's enough information out there to even guess about that.
Because there are medications out there that occasionally kill you even if you use them exactly as prescribed and they are prescribed exactly as recommended and approved. We use them because they don't kill that often. Even Ibuprofen can very rarely cause a life threatening reaction with lasting consequences.
I have heard of people injured by a chainsaw when they hit something embedded in a tree.
Sure, but at the same time you'll be really relieved if you screw up and an autonomous vehicle acts with inhumanly fast reflexes and saves you and your passengers from a collision.
Autonomous vehicles will always have to deal with surprises. If not human drivers screwing up, kids and animals running into the road, falling trees, sinkholes, rockslides, flooding, etc.
You missed what I was saying. The Rs have characterized it is some kind of plague to be eradicated, not me. Personally, I consider it to be necessary insurance reform but far short of what we need to reform health care in the U.S.
I just find it hysterical that after 6 years of moaning about Obamacare the best they could come up with was a cheap knock-off of Obamacare and they couldn't get it passed even while controlling both houses and the Oval office.
That "R" next to Trump's name on election night suggets he is a Scottsman^wRepublican. If that bothers you, you should reconsider your party affiliation.
I would say it's also contrary to what the pundits on the right would have us believe. Remember how so much was going to get done now that the GOP has the trifecta?
How Obamacare would be replaced by something soooooo much better (but the only deal on the table was basically the cheap Chinese knock-off version of Obamacare)?
Let's see, Obamacare is a plague on the nation that must be killed right now. The GOP could do so much better. So they propose Obamacare-lite and can't manage to pass it even while controlling the House, the Senate, and the Oval Office. Let me guess, somewhere in Arkansas the county dog catcher is a Democrat and that gummed up everything.
The trailers for comedies are great! They tend to have every last actually funny bit of the movie condensed into 5 minutes or less. Just watch those and skip the movie.
That would be true if cities weren't in the habit of shortening the yellow at intersections where the cameras are set up. Sometimes so short that even a perfect 0 reaction time and the best brakes available aren't good enough to avoid running the red.
Actually, they do. They predicted warming and the Earth is warming. They were even reasonably close in the degree of warming predicted. If the counter "theory" that they just got lucky over and over again held any water, the Caymans would be full of retired climate scientists and Vegas would be bankrupt by now.
Do you also claim that the theory of gravity is a hoax because when you drop a rubber ball, it bounces up after it falls?
Perhaps powered flight is a hoax because those airplanes inevitably end up back on the ground?
My guess is that Uber won't want to sink without a fight. They might even become desperate enough to pay a living wage and find a way to make it work. In the end, the market abhors a vacuum. Someone would come along paying a living wage and filling the void. So long as there's a void to fill.
One way to balance the negotiation would be the UBI. Give people enough that they can walk away from a bad deal and the deals will get better fast.

So you're incapable of screwing up? No chance a medical problem might surprise you? Simply can't happen?

The problem is that a majority of Americans want affordable healthcare, not an insurance scam. I noticed that was never even on the table.
By trying (and failing) to pass what can only be described as Obamacare-lite?
Except that the modern capitalist is concerned only with costs, so all he actually hears is "Do you believe that H1-B workers are cheap?".
Of course, a blinking cursor that doesn't eat 13% of the CPU can be fairly important to the user experience.
That depends, are we talking fizz buzz or recognize an apple in a jpeg in 10 lines or less?
Not in the U.S. In most states the employer need not even have an articulable reason.

Slow clap.
That was a long time ago when the quality of patents was high enough to make it worthwhile. Now it's full of cat teasers and basic wheels.

People tried that in a few places. They just shortened the yellow until it became impossible to avoid running the red.

The headline came from the UK website. Most Americans are bright enough to figure it out.
Dialing is quite possibly not a daily occurance in the house like when we were 4. But he got the job done and that's the part that matters.
