    It requires exceeding your body's ability to recover.

    Many laborors experience that. They start out OK on Monday, but by Friday they;re waking up in pain and it doesn't really go away. They get to recover a bit over the weekend, but by the next Monday, they can't really be said to have fully recovered, just mostly recovered.

    As for pro athletes, they generally retire before their peak performance falls off. They can be as good as they ever were at times, but they simply cannot do it day after day for any length of time any more.

    About the only people who come close who aren't poorly paid laborers are pro athletes. How many pro athletes can you think of who don't retire well before they turn 60? Now imagine if they couldn't afford to retire.

    There were significant issues with timely donation disclosures and refunds of excess donations, but Trump is in it for PERSONAL comingling of funds and mis-use of campaign funds.

    In other words, it tells you very little. Perhaps the Ds are pretty happy with any of the candidates but the Rs will be disgusted and stay home if the wrong R wins the primary.

  7. If it keeps the user from doing something they could do before and it is a deviation from the standard, it's a bug. If they either make the status-quo default and allow the user to use the new change as a configuration option OR allow the user an easy and obvious way to whitelist a site or sites where the old functionality is wanted, it's probably good enough.

    One important difference, In Clinton's case the investigation shifted FAR from criminal matters. The whole Daniels investigation surrounds potential violations of campaign finance law. That is, the payoff on the downlow, not the alleged affair and not lying or not about the affair.

    Consider, XP just won't die. There are plenty of admins out there who are still stuck with XP.

    If you're just shuttling a few files back and forth, it's easy. OTOH, if you're dealing with locking and shared filed, it can get "interesting".

    You do know those settings affect protocol, right? Meanwhile, they are settings rather than hard coded because SMB isn't really cross platform and so there will be corner cases that need to be handled differently in different environments.

    They are a communication company that can't even communicate with themselves. I have literally had a "support tech" telling me there was no outage reported in my neighborhood the moment a comcast bucket truck stopped at a pole nearby and set up. I casually asked one of the guys on the crew and he told me an amplifier had failed and the whole street was out.

    Even though I told the "support tech" the situation was handled, sure enough a guy rolled up a week later "to fix my internet".

    Simple, our courts are dead asleep at the switch.

    A cornerstone of our society is that the COURTS are the final resolver of disputes. They are actively abdicating by allowing arbitration clauses.

    Apparently you haven't had to actually deal with compatibility between Linux filesystems and Windows boxes using Samba.

    It is NOT fun when an upgrade breaks some corner case. The Windows machines certainly won't hint at what is wrong. All you can do is look on the web and hope someone has already figured out the magic incantation that makes the corner case go away or randomly guess at things until you stumble over it.

    If they or their families can afford it. Note that the for-profit prisons see it primarily as a new revenue source, not a necessary service to fulfill their contracts.

    If you treat people as animals long enough and give them no way to leave, they will live down to that. Further, they will learn well that society as a whole is brutish, hateful, and their enemy. Making them live down to that for years and then tossing them out on the streets is the dumbest possible approach to crime.

    It's right up there with abusing a large dog for years and then sending it to "play" with your kids.

    If it was truly cross platform, it would be easier to update Samba to the latest standard.

    Admins would have less reluctance to do updates on a setup that more or less works.

    IIRC, if that fails, you lose power assist, but still have manual steering and brakes.

    You should look at the history of it. It took the EU ordering MS to open up to get anything like complete support for the distinctly MS protocol. I wouldn't call it exactly cross platform so much as a triumph of reverse engineering.
