Linux is communism build upon a capitalistic foundation, namely the only way to achieve real communism by choice and therefore maybe a small step in human society, but huge leap for mankind.
This 'virus' is now spreading to the physical, namely something you can trade. From service to goods, putting capitalism to good use, without needing a government for flawed communism; creating and freely sharing, just because we can and out of free will.
I see all sorts of tiny things without real visible impact happening all around... but together this might prove to be the best thing since the birth of capitalism.
Keep in mind that this is just my own thought train, opinion and peer review. You don't have to agree with me.
No, nothing fancy. Humans just tasted the advantage of Open. They don't give away free shit without getting anything in return, like an open graphics card that works the way they want it.
Also notice the element of changing something for the better; power.
Yes. Ok let's take a look at Intel Graphics, OK? So they have free software drivers. Cool and all but what if you wanted to write a Galium3D (totally different style kinda) driver for it? Well you can't, because you do not know the hardware.
How about you want to reprogram the GPU itself? It would be kinda nice to know what the graphics card is made of.
Starting up the latest version of Ubuntu Linux, logging in and starting up OO.o is faster than starting the latest version of Windows up, without logging in and starting up MSOffice.
While leaving OO.o minimised and running Linux is still faster than Windows without MSOffice running.
In the mean time you can just do whatever you want with Linux, while you have some registry cleaning up, defragging, malware and virusscanning to do.
Then you need to update. Just go ahead with Linux but with Windows you need to restart a couple of times.
After that a Linux user would have written 50 times the amount of documents a Windows user would have written in a week.
Awesome... now control a GPS Google Maps app on your PDA, blindly, with the buttons. "Touch the spot where you want to go today". *Up, up, up, up, left, left, left, left, up, up, up, up, up, left, right, up, up, up, up,.* That sounds like so much fun. Or maybe you want to hook up a mini-USB-mouse to it?
Ofcourse not. Imagine Ubuntu with it's feature set, yeh?, and do sudo apt-get install kde-base etc.. Wow you got KDE4 running, very nice... Now how about the integration of all it's enduser features into KDE? Like a QT security app or something?
Now how about the integration of the new notification system? Oh wait...
KDE is a DE. How well that environment is integrated, thus implemented, into everything else varies highly. It's not about configuring but intergrating.
Yeah but who nees an airpump? How about sealed air-, invisible-, soft plactic holes (like pixels) and a simple "puch up when 1, push down when 0" mechanism behind the plastic overlay?
How about the static pixels on your flatscreen? (or am I an insensitive clod for not thinking about the possibility you stil have a CRT?) We just need more tiny compressors, that's all...

ATI? Even now that they are part of AMD?
Can you pass me some sort of citation/link?

Win32 games. Large period.

And on Windows OO.o loads a quick starter on startup in 2sec, just after you got into explorer.
You are one of those complete morons who can't think for themselves.
What backdoor are we talking about? E-n-c-r-y-p-t-i-o-n... whoooopyyyy!
What has the NSA done? Work with Microsoft... on encryption... whoooopppppy!
How many master/mother keys are there? Three.... whoooppyyyyy again.... yesh, yu liiiiikeee?
What is the third key's title? NSA... woooooooowwwww...
Then the NSA key title debug symbol was not removed.... wow... still following? Good... I'm glad you have the brains to read...
Then there came this Microsoft patch that r-e-m-o-v-e-d it...
Wow... either one million /.-ers minus 5 are stupid, or you are!

C'mon guys...

Yeah because real buttons interfaces are soooo dynamic...
Yes... but then again the (C)Touch Pannel Overlay Technology Driver (TM)(R) needs to be actually working!

To clarify, I'm under the impression you have got some distorted idea about me and are pursuing it to its logical end.
Yeah that's my signature, smartass...
I was making out I didn't run Gnome or Windows.
So then I can run KDE-Windows on wine in KDE? ... sure, sure.
Uhm... logical end? How about your suggestive style here? But I guess you're the only one here persuing things to the logical end...
In any case, if it means no more autorun on flash drives, removable hard drives and network shares, that is definitely a step in the right direction.
Whoa...! Wait... they had autorun there too?!?! Dear god...
Or could it be that we are both separate branches that coexist with each other?
Yup. I wasn't trying to refute anything...

If some dinosaurs hadn't survived it/them, we wouldn't have birds.
So the point being taken here, by me, neither would we have crocodiles since they are alike:

And what about the crocodiles?
Even those are facing extinction: http://tech.slashdot.org/article.pl?sid=09/04/28/2322248&art_pos=5
The entire IT community solutes you in this decision! Finally something I can be happy about when reading about Microsoft! :D:D:D
