Yes C++ should not be use for everything. But take KDE4 for example. It requires both low- and high level programming. So it's for the better that they use C++. But if you have a project either focusing on just low level or just high level then it is better if you use a language strictly designed for that sort of thing and not C++ just because it is possible. That is what Stroustrup also says in his C++ book.

  2. Re:Want to know more? Read the book on Bjarne Stroustrup Reveals All On C++ · · Score: 1

It's better than C IMO because you have the power of low level programming and high level programming combined and at the same time it's also really useful and way more productive with large scale projects. In other words; C++ gives you the power to do it all, instead of having to learn and combine a high level programming language with a low level programming language. If that wasn't great enough, it also almost doesn't need a runtime environment, except for a few functions so it's also uber fast.

I heavily disagree. When XP retires we have to start converting Windows user from Vista. Not only is converting from Vista a much bigger pain in the ass, Wine will not be able to run DRM packed games. Right now there is all kinds of support for XP integration, but zero to none for Vista (file systems (not to mention encryption with BitLocker), protocols and formats).

That is because (sorry I am not a native English speaker so I don't know the English terms for the following:) the 'bridge' that connects the 'left part of the brain' with the 'right part' of girls is bigger. That means girls are better at dealing with more than one thing at the same time, so they ,in this case, probably see more potential for bugs and are more creative, with in this case code, than man. Girls have a bigger imagination than man ("I don't need pr0n"). Girls also are better at language on avarage than guys so they probably also write lesser ugly code than man on avarage.
