  2. Big Pussy and the Zombie Mafia on The Sopranos Ends With a ... · · Score: 5, Funny

You know, I came up with a rather nice ending about a year ago that involved Big Pussy coming back from the dead as zombie and using voodoo to take over Tony's crew, then going to war with Phil and then the rest of the Five Families. I even wrote a theme song (to the tune of the Three's Company theme song)...such a pity they didn't use it. Now that would've been a great setup for a spinoff. People like the mafia, they like zombie flicks...how could it fail?

  3. Offensive opinions... on 'Dangers of the Internet' Resolution Passed By Senate · · Score: 1

Fortunately thanks to the Reversal of Freedoms Act of 1994, offensive opinions will no longer bounce around the internet, confusing our children and frightening our old people! The current administration (having just discovered that said law was in fact not just a joke invented by the "Simpsons" writing staff) has decided to create several "freedom camps" in various abandoned prisons around the country, in order to free us all from this tyranny of offensive ideas...no more will you have to hear that the United States isn't the greatest country on Earth, that corporations may be ripping us off, that the President resembles a chimp of some kind...Operation Freedom From Ourselves is now underway! And don't worry, future freedom camp guests, we haven't forgotten about you either! Bill Maher will be doing his standup act at Freedom Camp "Moral Virtue" (formerly known as Alcatraz) starting next week! And Michael Moore will be taking his "human pinata" act on a tour of all the camps! Also, anyone that would be so kind as to forward the location of that Stephen Colbert person will be entered in a raffle to win a Chrysler PT Cruiser (red) and a month's extra supply of rations.

I understand aiming this at people looking for a low-level laptop replacement, but as an alternative to a Blackberry or some smartphone? Look at the size of the thing...what's the killer app that's going to convince people to pick this up?

  6. Re:the bin should say on Zune Team Getting Amnesty for iPod Use · · Score: 1

That wheel interface is starting to get a bit annoying, to tell the truth. If they made a higher-capacity Ipod shuffle, I'd likely just get that. As is, I'm going to see what else is out there.

  7. Re:the bin should say on Zune Team Getting Amnesty for iPod Use · · Score: 1

And what would you recommend? I'm not being sarcastic...my old iPod just broke (that'll teach me to take it rock-climbing) and I'm in the market for a new player I could use with all three major OSes, if possible. Any ideas?

  8. Re:You guys are all nuts. on Zune Team Getting Amnesty for iPod Use · · Score: 2, Interesting

A housemate of mine owns a Zune, and having used it once or twice on occasion (I wanted to get a look at the competition), I can safely say the iPod has nothing to fear. You're right that the Zune has a very nice UI, attractive and easy to use...but other than that, it has no outstanding factors that would make anyone prefer it to an iPod (or other DAP). It's not very attractive (brown?), somewhat bulkier than an iPod, and the software that's used to move music to the player is hit-or-miss. As was mentioned a couple of posts earlier, if the song-sharing function didn't have DRM, it'd certainly give the Zune the foothold it needs to stand out in the market. As it is, what's so special about it, exactly?
