If you recall when you signed up for POP access and forwarding you also signed up for Yahoo! Delivers, on your marketing preferences set that to a Yes and you will have your pop access till April whatever.
You want to call Konq. and Mozilla a browser war? look at weblogs people, +90% of the hits of most major sites see Internet Explorer, not your fabled two browsers that are good, but not widely used.

My IQ is 149 but I barely graduated high school with a lovely 2.0 GPA, made a 25 on my ACT which was the only way i made it into my university. While I was taking classes, I managed in 4 semesters to make a 1.18 GPA, due to a complete unwillingness to study & attend classes, not that I don't enjoy learning. I just never had to study in my high school to pass anything, it just wasn't important. Now I am suspened from school for a semester, and looking at how I can possibly raise my GPA so that maybe just maybe I won't have to depend on my ACM Programming Contest Awards to get a job out of College.
Bah, at our school we pay a $100 technology access fee of which if for all technology on campus. Which if you have or don't have a computer you still pay for it, because the ones without would have to use the labs. Also, being an ISP just constitutes providing a service, wiether you pay for it or not, i.e. juno/netzero of old. If i provide service via an Access point to the rest of my apartment complex then technically i could be considered a lame ISP, but i still provide the service, i.e. Internet Service Provider.
Alright people you are all such hypocrites, you call for free speech, you want your free software. But you slam someone who just wants to run an open relay, just because people use it illegally without his consent, you slam him. Me, i run an open relay on my home server because I never know where i will be when i want to send an email, does that make me a bad person that I help the spammers send you guys spam? Maybe so but that is what junk mail fiters are for, thats why 90% of the email i receive daily is automatically deleted. You call for free speech but you slam people who encourage it.
Not always, they will accept it for so you can get a tax return but i would say they hate getting small amounts of donations due to increasing complexity of different types of machines, warrenties, etc...
A company donated 30+ 286 laptops to my old high school when 386's came out and the laptops sat on shelves and as far as i know are still there

Dorm Storm?

· Score: 1, Informative
My school uses a packet shaper and firewall combination. The firewall stops all incoming traffic that didn't originate from inside the firewall. Ie, i can connect to outside, but outside cannot connect in. So therefore, since i work for an ISP outside of campus, i can't get into my freebsd box to get any personal work done, while not in my dorm room(yes they block all non-originating traffic in from everything but the dorms). So therefore, Code Red would of had no effect to dorm room students, unless someone got infected on purpose.
I will propose putting a limit on people, like a Gig a day or something so people won't run pr0n sites(the reason the firewall was put up).
I know at my school, i have never seen nor signed any agreement that gives them my code, but it is generally understood that i do not hold the copyright if i used any of there hardware to create/test it. I had to rewrite something that i wanted to release under the GPL from scratch just so i could release it to the public. I am trying to convince them to just GPL all of the students (assignment) source under a website so that students can still use it, but the non-free os people that warez all of there software don't like open source, go figure.
In case you haven't it goes something like this. GPL=open source, GPL=anti-intllectual property, Open Source= anti-intellectual property, All Open source threatens intellectual property, because if you use any open source, you have to give away all of your IP.
thats a equivilance relation between
Open Source R anti-IP.
def. of equivilance relation:
1) reflexive (x R x)
2) symmetric (x R y -> y R x)
3) transitive (x R y -> y R z:. x R z)
so i want a proof of the relation damnit.
last time we tried to implement it on a lan cs server even if the person installed it the server thought they didn't have it installed, so we scratched it for a more direct approach, logged ips, you cheat your banned.
Cheating isn't new its in Casino's and everyday run of the mill poker games. I don't like cheating but i mean shit, has there ever been a time when someone didn't cheat?
I am doing a site for listings locally, with the main goal of making it easy for the realtors to update the site to maintian current listings.
Since starting this project i have found that most realtors in my area use Voyager product for their own software, which i plan to use simple ftp scripts to upload the exported data to my server. Simplicity at its best, or so I hope.
Having being a undernet frequent visitor over the past few years, and knowing most of the wrong people, makes me doubt Romania.
What can they do? A firewall would help, some, but not solve the problem (FreeBSD ipfw cost $30 486 w/8-16mb ram and 500 mb harddrive,).
But a firewall will not fix the problem, no not much will, except make everyone happy of which will never happen. But you cannot let them, the kiddies, walkover Undernet so it is forced to close, you must stand up so they cannot do it to another server and another.
If it is a DDoS, then obviously the kiddie got in the machines that he is using by a vunerability, and is controling them, but I doubt he fixed the bug, kill the machine? (shutdown now) Contact the dumbass admin that didnt patch his server, tell him you were forced, by 50000-60000 undernet users. But it does not really matter in the end though, he will always find more insecure boxes, and he can continue the attack, any "Romanians want to go raid his house and make his ass stop please? I really wouldnt mind, and I doubt most people would care other than him and his parents.
This is a semi-ligit technology, i read about it in the latest Wired Magazine (January 2001 i believe). Let me tell what i recall from it.
Basically some scientists say that if your brain works at a certain frequency (something along these lines) you can concentrate better.
The same scientists wantted something that can help ADD or Attention Deficeit Disorder. They needed a way to tell children to have their brains work at that certain frequency so they can concentrate better. These scientists modified a playstation (or a N64 not sure which). Which responds to the controls the closer they get to the certain freqency therefore making the game harder when they are not close or easy if they are on the right track (hence feedback which i would say should be fairly effective). This helmet I assume somehow helps the user play the games better when they have their brain at the right frequency so the children improve there attention span and get better grades in school, life, etc...
That is the basics or as much as i can remember.
Alright, I never thought of that side of it. I was mainly focusing on why should I learn a language I will never really use. Also I noticed your English background is Europeanan due to your favo'u'r, is this a correct assumption?

Doesn't the BIOS need to know what each device is? I mean what about the BIOS Harddrive detection, it passes the data down to the os doesn't it?

It was at least smart enough to fight back.
it will increase pings mainly, it would take a few milli seconds todo any kind of worthwhile encryption
