As far as I'm aware most rapes are nonviolent, though generally while disabling the rapist is wise if you want to avoid getting raped I wouldn't recommend trying to castrate him as that's very likely to be lethal and will get you on the hook on criminal charges as excessive.
Even things like Krav Maga have issues though, because unless you're in the military or a similar organization you'll probably get into trouble if you ever utilize those skills because if you kill or maim someone you at least in Sweden need a very convincing argument that it was necessary or you'll be charged with manslaughter.
You're funny. Anonymous is a bunch of kids, they're many but they're not infinite and their leaders are probably pretty damn rare. (Where Leader is someone with the technical skills to organize any sort of serious effort).
I'm not sure what the specific laws look like to be honest but I wouldn't be surprised if there existed something along the lines of "Deliberate disruption of service".
It would probably take a lot before anyone would go after the people using the client though, however the people writing the software and voting on attack targets however will probably eventually get into the line of fire.
You won't win a fair fight against a skilled opponent with "Punch a lot and hard!" but most cases of assault and rape are not very fair.
Usually it's the case of a person getting drunk and then walking home alone and getting attacked somewhere on the way often by multiple people. Or in the case of girls they're sometimes followed home or attacked by the very taxi driver that was meant to take them home safely, the victim really isn't in a state to effectively practice any form of martial arts.
Or in the case of you being robbed, you're usually alone against several people that are often armed when you're not, even if you could win it would be very likely to end in serious injury even with martial arts training.
"Everyone who says this seems to either A) have bar fight experience but no martial arts experience; or B) never have been in a fight in their lives."
I'm confused as to how that's relevant. The statistical truth that most people don't get into serious fights would remain true even if the people repeating the fact are part of that majority.
Odds are that you'll never be in a real fight, and if you ever are, those wrestling skills won't in the end help very much because real fighting and practice are quite different.
There's nothing wrong with practicing Martial Arts for recreational purposes or for fitness or whatever, but just like you probably won't end up a soccer champion just because you were taught soccer in Phys Ed you probably won't get much RL benefit from the MA classes either (beyond the exercise and fun).
Learning Martial Arts is prohibitively time consuming and still doesn't help you if you're surprised or inebriated in any way. You'd only get rid of a fraction of the rape cases at best.(As most rape cases are not assault cases against sober victims)
The people calling themselves "Anonymous" isn't some rebel movement willing to die for the cause, most of them are kids doing it for the lulz, do you really think anyone of them wants to be a martyr?
While there are horders of kids doing things for the lulz, it will probably stop being funny if there are real life consequences and the subset of people involved in these activities with real technical skills is probably vanishingly small although they should be a bit harder to get hold of (As they should be smart enough to use proxies and whatnot)
You don't really need to try to dismantle the movement called Anonymous as such, you just need to harshly go after anyone involved in illegal activities.
The distinction is meaningless. If you kill/imprison the people calling themselves Anonymous the attacks stop either way regardless if they're one group or many groups.
I was under the impression that Al-Qaeda was basically destroyed and currently used mostly as a scarecrow to wave around whenever someone questions military involvement.
Personally I suspect that if a number of "Anonymous" "Ringleaders" got caught by the FBI and sentenced to pretty hefty sentences the overall membership of their activities will probably sharply decline.
Most of them are in it for the lulz after all and lulz are not worth several years in prison or higher fines then you can pay off in your lifetime.
The Daily Show had this funny segment a while ago where they showed clips of speeches of the last, I think 10 presidents.
Each and every one of them said that the US was in urgent need of energy independence and they were working hard on it. 60 years later the country gone nowhere, I suspect the problem is a bit harder to solve then just make a mandate about it;)
Not to mention that the girls were politically active liberals and basically his groupies before he even entered the country. It's not very often you can get internationally famous free speech activists into your home after all.
I think you're confused. So you believe that you're the one that's promoting polite behavior? Excuse me while I take a while to laugh my pants off.
Now let's see here, whom of us here is that that's making assumptions about the lives the other person is living? Who here is that goes out of his way to throw meaningless insults?
Oh my, I believe that was you. I do really think that for your own sake you need to take a few steps back and look at your life and realize you have a problem. I've done nothing against you but yet you respond with aggression, that shows a mental failure.
Me on the other hand am promoting humor, I want more people to be able to be happy without worrying about if it's politically correct to do so. What' the civilized behavior hmm?
I don't take offense, I just think you're mentally ill. You haven't done anything to me, just yourself by being pathetic;=)
However I do think we'd be much better off as a society without foolish people like you burdening us down. I've been inches from dying (Traffic accident) but I don't mind people making jokes about it, what makes 9/11 or anything else special? Nothing. Get over yourself;)
They're not being mocked, that's the thing, it's a joke. But fine, if people want to go out of their way to take offense at things in no way intended to mock them, that's their right.
What I don't get is why people go and take offense at their behalf, what sort of fucked up behavior is that? If it wasn't so common I would have thought it to be some kind of severe mental illness. Are peoples lives so sad and pathetic they can't find their own things to care about so they have to take other peoples?

He's an adult, he's fully responsible for his actions.

Though how would a gun have helped her? She'd still get overwhelmed and probably threatened by her own gun wouldn't she?

The problem would be that you don't know /how/ he would freak out, for all you know he might respond by beating you to death.
If that scenario is true he probably deserves a few years in prison for stupidity alone.
Learning Martial Arts is prohibitively time consuming and still doesn't help you if you're surprised or inebriated in any way. You'd only get rid of a fraction of the rape cases at best.(As most rape cases are not assault cases against sober victims)
I'd mod you up if I hadn't already posted in this discussion. +1!

Normally it wouldn't, but the situation tends to change when you have an actual motive to kill someone.
Friends only probably wouldn't help as it has started to become common to subpoena facebook for evidence.

Fuck political correctness, if people want to joke about the revolution let them.
