Its not like there are not many alternatives, both free and commercially supported, which could be migrated to if they really wanted to drop that fee.

    How about Lotus Notes?

Like many here, I was instantly hooked on the WOT books when they first came out.

Books 5 through 9 each increasingly bogged down and lacked the 'magic' of the preceding volumes. I was so disappointed with CoT that I didn't buy KoD when if first came out but waited a year and borrowed it from the library.

KoD was a return to form, and I was pleased to see that tGS kept the momentum.

I would have liked to see Galad and Loial make appearances, and all the Egwene punishment chapters were starting to intrude into Goodkind territory.

My biggest complaint is that Rand's emotional rollercoaster and subsequent epiphany was unconvincing and unneccessary Book after book after book pounded into our heads that Rand avoids violence against women at all costs. Suddenly he snaps and remorselessly kills women? It rang false to me. And, all he had to do to snap himself out of taint-induced paranoia was channel massive amounts of saidin standing on the top of the Dragonmount, while destroying the largest weapon available to male channelers?

You could at least dress in something other than a polo shirt that predates the dot-com craze and is several sizes too small.

Chewing your food with your mouth closed also helps. As does bathing and shaving daily, and getting a haircut every 6 weeks.

The monitor cannot hear you, and is NOT going to be party to your conversations. Neither will it ever offer debugging tips.

Nobody, and I mean NOBODY, cares to have a conversation of any duration about intellectual property, copyright law, and the RIAA/MPAA.

Oh, we also don't want to hear about your vintage IBM Model M keyboard with bucking spring action. We already are acutely aware of how clicky the damn keys are.

You aren't really weird, you are just playing at it. Grow up.

I gave up on Star Wars "novels" many years ago. Now if they could be written by Bob Forward or Larry Niven....

And for whatever reason, even the various Star Wars based comic books have been of very uneven quality. You would figure that something as cartoony as SW would translate perfectly to a graphic novel/comic book format.

1). Do you really want to write a library function to see if your source code is infested with the minions of Nyogtha?

2). Are your users sufficienly trained to cope with the non-Euclidean madness that will appear to form somewhere above their keyboards?

3). You won't be able to stop gazing into the Shining Trapezohedron.

4). Thursday morning staff meetings will now be used to contemplate the enactments of ruin.

You should weigh all of the pros and cons involved before taking a step this drastic.

As loony as it sounds, that is partially true.
The following is from a tax advocacy web site:

    -------------------------

1.There is no statute that makes a person liable or responsible to pay the income tax. Individuals only become liable to pay the income tax when they voluntarily file a tax return, or when the I.R.S. follows its assessment procedures as outlined in the Internal Revenue Code.

2.If there were a statue which clearly and unequivocally required the filing of tax returns, such a statute would be unconstitutional under the present income tax system to the extent that it would require individuals to give the government information which could be used against them criminally.

3.The IRS, under our U.S. Constitution, cannot legally require information on 1040 returns from individuals--that is why the IRS continually refers to the income tax as "voluntary".

All individuals who file tax returns waive their Fifth Amendment Rights.

The Government cannot require individuals to waive their Fifth Amendment Rights.

Therefore, the Government cannot require individuals to file tax returns.
