It's taken long enough but it seems these corporations who employ mafia-like tactics will finally get what they deserve. Kudos to the whistle-blowers within MediaDefender, The Pirate Bay for having the guts to file a lawsuit, and Sweden's Communistic copyright laws allowing this happen.
It will be interesting to "see" how "long" it "takes" before you "break" the "record" for the most "amount" of quotation "marks" in a Slashdot "comment".
Because a few features have been made compulsory does by no means render your 8800GT or 2900 'obsolete'. It will still be able to run everygame on the market right now and probably 95% for the next few years (The other 5% being the few made by developers who actually want to embrace DX10.1).
So no, your fancy schmancy hardware is not obsolete and DX10.1 is not an excuse to dump it in the landfill and purchase another $800 video card.
"Most of the "red state people" hunt, fish and enjoy spending time in the outdoors and don't want to see it sludged and destroyed."
Celebrate the environment by killing it off bit by bit. Nice.
I'm not saying it doesn't deserve ANY slashdot 'bandwidth' at all. I'm merely stating that there's been almost a dozen articles in the past few weeks basically saying the same thing. Time to give it a rest.
I think I speak for a lot of people of when I say that we're sick of hearing about the bloody iPhone. Who cares if it's super-dooper good, it's just another phone.
Doing a quick IP trace http://visualroute.visualware.com/ tells us that Torrentspy is located in the Netherlands. How exactly does that fit into all this?
I'd say more of a *Snide Lenin grin*.
A-ha, thanks for clarifying that. I'd always heard about the "lax" copyright laws in Scandinavian countries but never quite understood it.
