No doubt this will be some sandboxed, fluffy, guided deal, completely missing many of the genuine problem solving skills which lead to a true understanding of what it is to code to create solutions.
Hah. Amateurs. Round here, they just wait for people who have large sums of money in their car and take it. None of this penny-hapenny speeding ticket stuff*
I could see the issue if the first light was turning red while people were in the junction but that doesn't appear to be the case. The law is clear, only enter a box junction if your exit is clear. If that means you need to let the vehicle in front completely traverse the junction and have a full car length behind them, then that's what you are supposed to do.
With that said, I will accept that it is a badly designed junction.
There also needs to be a mark on the road that would indicate where you would be running a red if you had passed it and were traveling the speed limit. People would still game it but I have had lights go both ways on me.
What can sites serving an important public function do to ensure they stay running during periods of unexpected load?"
Not be created and run by government which has very little interest in ensuring the success of legislation which has already passed. There's the next election to think about, don't you know and those pesky Republians/Democrats [delete as applicable] are going to destroy the world if you don't vote in our slightly less scummy candidate.
Didn't really want it (I had a Samsung in mind) but it's what work gave me (it was that or an iphone). Gotta say, the battery life is impressive and it doesn't sacrifice much performance, only lagging occasionally. I actually intended to run the battery flat a couple of weekends ago but it was still going late Sunday from being taken off charge Friday AM.
I'd forgotten how nice having decent battery life is. I had an L7089 in a past life and that would go out to seven days. I would gladly sacrifice quite a few "niceties" for battery life. Where are the e-ink android phones? (I have a Motofone F3 somewhere but sadly it doesn't work on the frequencies here)
It was peer pressure. Sure, you start with a C-15 but before you know it, you're on to C-60s and then it's not long before even a C-90 just isn't doing it anymore. It's only when you catch yourself writing out the third page of play codes that you know you've hit rock bottom.
China already could do this. Likely Google would decide in that case that it simply wasn't worth having a presence in China and China apparently doesn't care or doesn't think the trade-off is worth it.
Haha, not quite. If I forget to let the glow plugs do their thing, my Jetta will crank forever in cold weather. And I'm talking only around freezing (0C)
True enough with the injectors but you gain a lot from having them electrical. The fuel solenoid *could* go mechanical. Some diesels may not start without glow plugs but plenty can so that is not necessarily an objection.
Unfortunately, he can't lay claim to being the Bruce Dicksinson http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/B...
A wheel without an axle is just a circle.

Remember kids, #00FF00 is not a creative color.
Now she gets to learn about networks and VPNs
Not sure those are a reliable measure here. I think they're mostly to encourage people not to change lanes in the junction.
Heh. Yeah, I should probably do something about that.

(*Actually, they do do that also)

Nice. Slipping a Helvetica reference in there too.

That could actually have some merit. Quick, patent it!
I remember spending a lot of my windows 3.1 days looking at an hourglass.
The ribbon is an actual ribbon.
Actually, that could be kind-of cool if it were designed right. If I wore baseball caps, ever, that is.
Clap if you believe...

Just like the other search engines were doing when we all decided we liked Google more. What goes around comes around.

iCe?
Have two vendors. The one that processes more people quickly gets more money. Competition is a bad word probably though.

Hell, the only reason for a battery in a diesel is to turn the starter motor.
Too lazy for crank-starting, eh?
