I do handcraft firewall rules for my home Slackware install though. It just seems the right thing to do:)
Not so much since I moved to a Tomato based internet router though. It was probably never a good idea to have the email, web server etc on the same system as the router.
Same here. If you're used to checkpoint firewall, it's an easy transition. Worked perfectly when I had to duplicate a firewall config for a firewall-on-a-floppy firewall (albeit it was done manually and not automatically).
5mpg is not that crazy. If you have an instantaneous mpg on your vehicle, you can see it fluctuate a lot. A vehicle with a 22mpg average can easily drop to 6-7 on hard acceleration so if you're really pushing it non-stop, you're going to see the average down around there.
That's for the individual to decide I guess. Though there's no reason it wouldn't be possible to have a wallet controlled through SMS. Also, some phones get limited internet without a data plan which might be an option.
Just to add a bit more, though some email clients do have encryption built in, their tools for handling the certificates and encryption and trust are woefully inadequate. If a client was built from the perspective of encryption first, some ground might be gained.
Though even then, you start running into corporate mail filters etc. My brother's company (West Sussex County Council) email filter would silently reject my emails that were just *signed* by me. When I contacted their mail administrator about it, I received a very shitty reply.
One thing to remember is that the credit card companies do have competition: Cash and checks. Both of these actually have their own handling costs (surprisingly high for cash) and this is what the credit card companies will be aiming at.
Wow. Could you squeeze maybe one more logical fallacy in there?
PC gaming FTW.
free publicity.
Nuff said.
C'mon, just take a look at those Nazi officer uniforms.
You kick him in the testicles and let him keep the chicken.
No. Depending on the luck of the coin, they might be required to play rock anywhere from 0 to 100% of the time.
Would I get to make movies like "Airplane"? Surely, you can't be serious?
Oh. Just got it ;)

I see what you did there...
Are you saying it was a swallow carrying a coconut?
They trimmed off the "crappy animation dubbed with rock music" intro.

Could you elaborate a little?

Cause if there was an edit function, that would read pgp, not php :)
I believe it was Thawte did/do free certs for email for non-commercial use. I would prefer php/gpg though.
Edit: did. Ah well.
(Just kidding, Slashdot has no edit function)
I hope you're right.
Well, as it's a phone...
Most pumps will ask me for PIN for debut and Zip for Credit (which often doesn't have a PIN). I ran across one a while back that requested both :(
It doesn't help that the sign is typically "WAL*MART"
