Sure. But a lot of the problems you describe are not really attributal to Thatcher, whatever you think about the stuff she actually did do.
And there were times I didn't have electricity as a child. It was during the power cuts due to the Labour government just before Thatcher was elected so...
When the device is expected to last well beyond the warranty period and you're not the kind of scumbag who breaks things just to take advantage of the warranty.
I have that suspicion too. I am a one-hive beekeeper and it seems a lot of practices I read about seem to be about getting into the hive often, removing as much honey as possible and then loading the bees up with sugar water for the winter. Now, it's cool that the bees produce enough honey for us to be able to help ourselves to some of the excess but it seems like it would be entirely too easy to over-farm this way. Personally, I'm trying to work on a process of minimal interference and leaving the bees plenty of honey through winter. We'll see how that goes.
I would suggest a show set in an, um, pizza delivery store with an idiot named Sly, an unrequited love interest called Lisa and a zany, nihilistic, cynical, wise-cracking robot called "Fender"
I disagree. Schooling has become so geared to the lowest common denominator that most of any issues due to age will be masked. I was an August child and typically came top in science and maths (except when I got too lazy due to the work being easy).
Spending money egregiously potentially deprives resources from a part of the economy that might otherwise be able to use it better and due to the laws of supply and demand, forces prices up for everybody. If you don't have a good use for your cash, better to keep hold of it for a time when you do. Except the government will make it worthless, of course.
That "better designed alternatives" can be a matter of opinion (and political viewpoint). I wish other currencies good luck but, personally, I think Bitcoin has the edge.
Guess what arrived in my post today? A dollar. I wanted a silver dollar just to be able to hold one in my hands. What's it worth? Melt value for the silver alone is around $28 fiat dollars (maybe a little less right now). Tell me that's not screwed up.
Yeah, Cisco, IBM, Microsoft, UPS. Where are they now?
Look, there was some craziness going on and some stupid money flying around but the underlying principle was solid. Is this the case with Bitcoin? Who knows (I think it is) but you were the one drawing the anology
Yes. But not the ones you're looking for.

I wish they could. Ammo is harder to come by than the guns at the moment.

It's too late now but you can use a regular thermos flask (which is basically what a Dewar is). Just don't tighten down the lid :)
Ooooooooooooooo.k.

So who was it dedicated to?
That's like someone standing outside of your house, refusing you entry unless you compensate him for the valuable service of getting out of your way.
They didn't get rich by writing a lot of checks!
Idiots. To be completely safe, I only post my crimes to myspace.
1.3 mil in *2013*. That's like 3.6 bajillion dollars in today's money after inflation.

That would make horror movie directors terrorists.
Bust solar = astronomy which means order-of-magnitude is enough.

about 13.6% of the Slashdot readership.
And now?
Labor theory of value? Isn't that dead yet?

Yeah, I'm glad we put that whole internet fad behind us.
Though I do have to say that it's still a damn site better than Windows (and even Linux) default security.
