    >With MP3, on the other hand, nobody gets paid.

Although I've ripped all my CDs, I don't download MP3s. I have checked out a couple of sites, and seen the ad/producct ratio is astounding. Do web sites not get paid for ads anymore??

    Maybe I'm missing something.

    >Every guy who has been married for over two weeks knows that in every way/shape and form, he will lose. sulking the ever familiar "Yes Dear" as his closing remark.

Whenever I say "Yes Dear" my wife hits me. She says it means "You Bitch."

  3. Re:This is what Linux needs on New Desktop for Linux · · Score: 1

I used to use a similar (only 2d) product called diskmap32. It was great for determining where all your disk space was going. Unfortunately it doesn't like larger disks, so I had to stop using it. If I could get a 3d version I would use it often.

  4. Re:Why not just use the Crusoe as a G4? on Darwin on Crusoe? · · Score: 1

I thought that the Crusoe was not able to efficiently emulate RISC chips. Something about translating RISC caused excessive overhead.

Or I may be talking out my butt.

disclaimer: I do not write code, therefor anything that I say may be BS.

Can you reverse-engineer the code to get the specs? If not, they could get a few coders to sign NDAs for the specs, but release the code as OS. I'd think the OS code would satisfy the zealots, while protecting their proprietary specs.

  6. Re:Aluminum Cube Case? on The Quest For Cool Cases Continues · · Score: 1

Wasn't that the Detroit Rock City case? I'm pretty sure it was never "released", and if I'm not mistaken, the company went belly-up. Which is probably why you couldn't find it on the web. I also suspect it was 2ft. X 2ft. not 2in. X 2in. (sorry, I couldn't resist)

  7. Re:Should have... on eToys Drops Lawsuit Against eToy · · Score: 1

The only reason I could see having a problem with the link is if the sites had similar content, as in your Manet/Monet example (I'm assuming Manet is an artist). However, the content was not similar. You don't go to an artist's site to buy toys, and you don't go to a toy site to look at art.

Have you ever actually TRIED to consistently "do" more that a couple of voices? I don't think it's as easy as most people think. Plus I'm sure the money isn't that great, and there's none of the normal Hollywood fame attached. I imagine they use the same people because noone else wants to do it.
