I am about to dump my cable service and start doing it the geek way and Torrent all of my shows. I'm thinking of hacking my current Tivo box and putting a larger drive in: I want to keep the UI, and I see no point in wasting a 500 dollar box.

I'll tell you what I would do in that case: hack into the scripts of the tractor and virtual-hotwire it so that it went really fast, flew, and shot exploding bullets at everyone else's tractors.
They have virtual police. The employees of Linden Labs, better known as the Lindens, patrol the virtual world searching for rulebreakers. The punishment, instead of a virtual jail that could easily be teleported out of, is loss of account. The jail/court thing is a common idea, and for those of us that play video games like SL all day, the monotony of a loss of account would actually be worse than jail.
