You really ought to check out the nebula device. (nebuladevice.sourceforge.net). It is an open-source engine, and the license allows free commercial use.
But even Great Britain is worse... if you don't think constant video surveillance on all of its citizens counts, then I don't think I understand your use of the word.
I live in Britain, but I can't work out where they've hidden all those cameras... Constant surveillance on everyone in Britain!!! Damn, they're watching me type these very words... got to go.
I understand that dimensions don't have a specific location, but when you say something is small and curled up, that tends to rule out it being everywhere at the same time.
Your example of the cylinder is just more confusing, now I'm imagining six big infinitely long cylinders that exist somewhere in the universe...
If there are 6 really small curled up dimensions, where are they, and why would they affect anything. What is the probablity of one of these dimensions even being in our galaxy. For these dimensions to affect anything surely they would have to be loads of them all over the place...
Surely the size of something cannot be estimated by the lack of it's presence/effect.
Will genetics companies care about side effects of tampering with our genes, or will they care only about their profits. Here in the UK we were deceived about beef by both industry and the government, and now we are seeing the reluctance of the mobile phone industry to even admit the possibility of health risks associated with mobiles. Do you think we can trust them to care for us at the expense of their profit margins???
I'm a little annoyed at ID over the privacy issues, but more important to me is that every time I run quake3 it's gonna cause my linux router box to dial my ISP, and calls cost money here in the UK. So, does anyone know what IP we all need to ban from our routing tables?

The x86 instruction set is a public interface to a proprietary system. Can you use non-free hardware to develop free-software?

You would no longer need to boot (or at least not often) because your operating system would be loaded already, with all the programs you were using.
