If only this wasn't being developed by Disney; the most evil, money grubbing company that exists. They probably secured the patent for this for the next 800 years and will sue anyone who tries to use air-based haptics this century.

Let's not break out the hyperbole. Copyright extension sucks, but there are a lot of other companies out there committing worse evils on a daily basis.

Nazi Germany is one of the most defining events of the 20th century, it's certainly going to apply to a number of discussions about rights, societal responsibilities, government overreach, and any time someone fears they could be persecuted by the government.

In this case it's not even right, Jews in Germany definitely knew they had things to hide, and some had been trying to hide their Jewishness for hundreds of years before WW2.

Yes, it used to be that Slashdot really was "news for nerds, stuff that matters" as in the stories had a very nerdy or technology angle, and it wasn't quite good enough that "well, some nerds would find this non-tech stuff important, so let's run with it." Now it's a bit different, but some people still complain about the the minor format shift. On the scale of Network Decay, Slashdot is probably between Major Shifts That Fit (bringing other things in without leaving their genre) and Slipped (still pays attention their genre, but there's a lot of non-genre stuff mixed in).
