He predicted this! I can't find the quote but something about radios removing knobs and buttons from the radio so you have to hold your hand in one place for it to work. I for one am thrilled to enjoy the ambiguity of gesture interpretation.
I still don't want to have a twitter account, so https://twitrss.me/ lets me live the dream of reading poorly worded tweets without the burden of actually having an account.
I heavily use RSS. It's what brought this article to my attention. I currently use TT-RSS with about 60 or so RSS feeds subscribed. I like it because it gives me one spot to see all of the articles that have been published on sites that I frequent without having to go there. I can quickly scan the title and the summary (when provided) to see if I want to read it. Using TT-RSS I can quickly "star" articles to read later when I get a chance or just ignore ones that aren't interesting. I even use it to follow some Twitter feeds with my RSS reader so I don't have to use that service. I just think it's easier to have something aggregate the news for me. Push emails from sites end up being interpreted as SPAM to my brain, and manually going to 60 sites to see whats new is just arduous.
I've just been looking into a home version of Pro Tools. Audacity & Ardour have some stuff, but I'm definitely giving reaper a shot. Thanks for the post.
Why are they pushing Carbonite? Their page selling the small business product (https://www.crashplan.com/en-us/business/compare/) still points out some of the major failings of Carbonite - which is why I switched a few years ago in the first place. Linux support, my own passphrase for the backup, automatic support for other file types... Small business fits me pretty well still, and the price isn't bad, but I'm still going to look around for something else. The fact that they are pushing a competitor one one side & pointing out their flaws on another smells of larger business problems to me. Bye Code42!
All day, every day, w/ TT-RSS. I've got an RSS search engine bookmarked, and I even use a Twitter to RSS service so I can get a few relevant twitter feeds without the clutter of their horrific interface. With Facebook, news curates you!!! (hahahaha)
I mean, it's awesome that security fixes are now separate from feature changes and that they are so easy to install and track! I love being able to so easily manage a single runtime with no compatibility issues on my clients now too.
Oracle has saved java!
I've been trying to find some different stuff from the classics by looking at cheaper books from Amazon kindle which have some good reviews. It leads to something different than Asimov, Hebert, Stephenson, et al (which I enjoy) at least.
Some I've liked are:
The Phantom of the Earth - Raeden Zen
Keystone - Luke Talbot
Still Falling - Martin Wilsey.
Of course, it all comes down to taste.
There's also http://www.sfsignal.com/intera... for classics.
Sandstorm looks nice. I'm going to test to see if it's worth it to migrate. I was really hoping to get more of this type of responses to the thread - ones which expose others to alternatives. Thanks.
Accidentally posted this as AC. Seriously, tagging, descriptions, nice layouts, themes, well maintained, easy addition of links, I could go on. It's nice having my own bookmarks and not having them mined by every company out there.
Was Porn. The porn industry chose VHS and beta died. Or at least that's what I heard. Please do not provide authoritative sources to disprove me. This is what I want to believe. Thanks!!
I mean, I know that it's shocking to think that a technology could be used for something other than the intended purpose, but all I can think of is -
We'll be spending most our lives living in a hackers paradise (The Weird Al one, not Coolio)
I think, as an American, I need to wait for a politician or a celebrity to tell me what my opinion should be. I'm quite sure I'm outraged, I'm just not sure why yet.
So a coworker found a usb key in the parking lot and wisely didn't plug it in. Instead he asked me to check it out before he did. So dutifully I fired up my live CD, plugged it in and quickly saw it belonged to a coworker. But which one in a company of 300+? Well, that was actually pretty easy to figure out, since there was a nice folder with pictures of himself naked in a mirror. Many of them. All alone. So I gave the guy the USB key, told him what I'd seen, washed my hands (and disinfected my cubicle) and was sooooo glad when the photographer took a different job.
So there may be a virus, or maybe just a lonely coworker.

Simple fix. Tariffs. It will solve the encryption imbalance and make phones great again
For the love of trump, just sanitize your input!!!
Those of us who lived through the events leading up to the Butlerian Jihad know the truth of this warning. If only Kevin Anderson hadn't ruined it.

It requires a hardware key to activate which is available with an RS-232 connector. USB-C to RS-232 dongles sold separately.
Loved the wool series by Hugh Howley. Also enjoyed The phantom of the earth series by Raeden Zen.

I'd forgotten about Kolab, I may go that way instead. I appreciate the answers!

I've yet to see any technology that can overcome bad process, bad practice, and bad planning. Why should education be any different?
Marketing may try to sell a magic fix, but reality seems to always win.
If the laws allow open containers (alcohol) in automated vehicles, all downsides will be ignored and the population will demand them.
Look up Lord Kelvin. The one with tbe temerature measurement unit

I could explain things with thumbnail view, but thanks for the ridicule.
