    Is the max speed a legal maximum, or an advisory maximum? If it's the latter, then speeding (the crime) was not the cause, but inappropriate speed (too fast for the conditions) was.

    This is the main problem with the 'Speeding Kills' mantra: it's not the speed itself, it's whether it's appropriate. Plus, speed doesn't kill; the sudden stop does though.

    Not so much state run, more chartered by the state to fulfill a public service role. Outside the chartered requirements, the BBC can put on what they want, regardless of what the government may say.

    'Death Magnetic' was also poorly balanced (read: boosted to fuck for volume), while the Guitar Hero version was pitched just right. I believe the entire album was remixed from the GH tracks and released (by fans of course).

    Actually the games as we know them started in the 1890's. There was a bit of a gap between the Fourth Century and then.

    Technically, the first modern Olympics were in 1850, but it is true the modern Olympic movement was 1890.

    I think Private Eye got there first (1961), although it's a UK publication only, so I don't know how well known it is outside the UK.
