I used to commute 70 miles to work daily. I found it soul crushing. IMO life is way too short to lose 3 hours of it every work day in a car. If this is your dream job, find a way to move closer to it. If it's not, then spend whatever time you have worrying about finding a closer job. Once you've eliminated the commute you can find a way to live more actively. Maybe you can bike to work like I do.
In the meantime just try to eat the best you can, lots of raw vegetables is my suggestion.
"When given two arguments, one presented by a research team from a respected univeristy, and another from a guy who admits that he might be mis-remembering his high school chemistry, I'm going to invest much more time in the latter, because it's more likely to be a good use of my time."
You mean the former right? Unless I'm misunderstanding what you consider a good use of your time.
Note that Godwin's law doesn't say anything about the appropriateness of bringing a Nazi comparison into a debate. If the comparison fits then throw it in there.
It's kind of funny how once we're occupying Iraq, something like 80% of the active army will be in use and we won't have the resources to deal with any new threats.
Maybe it just depends on who you're working for. I got a job right out of school working for the navy. First off, I feel incredibly lucky to have this job in an economy that is unfriendly to entry-level folks. But as an advantage, they told me almost first day that while it was always my choice, they would pressure me to get a masters degree on their dollar. Learning is one of the specific measures of my contribution on the end of year pay review and I can't even get a promotion until I do rotations with the other projects in the organization to learn what kind of technologies they're working with. I wouldn't have gotten that as a fresh college grad in the private sector. I'd still be doing bullshit ASP applications.
Here's a better picture than the one that people have been linking to (at least on the first page, you really think I'm going to read 900 comments to see if this is a duplicate?).
Congratulations Rob. I'm sure you two will be great.
A dime bag is how much you get for $10. How much you get depends on the quality of the weed.

"The bird thing is pure BS. Besides the turbines can be placed far offshore."
Won't somebody please think of the flying fish?!
Oh I know. My point was that if it's a valid comparison, even that usage of Godwin's law shouldn't apply. Otherwise you could take it to this extreme.
poster1> The only solution is to exterminate the Jews.
poster2> What? That would make us just like the Nazis.
poster1> Haha! You lose!

Don't forget Rambo.
why does your source need execute privileges?
ahh shit I'm probably missing something.
Two kinds of justice in America: justice for the rich and justice for the super-rich.
Don't listen to them man, goddamnit that's funny.

or any friends to help us.
That's funny isn't it?
I'm in, I'll play washtub bass. But do we dress punk or bluegrass?
two most vicious drinking games ever. Just pick either tetsuo or kaneda and drink every time you hear the name.
