Article mentions it's nicknamed the Senate Launch System
Launching the senate seems like a great idea to me. No reentry vehicle or parachutes are necessary.
If they reenter the athmosphere they will filibuster gravity while arguing whether it is communist since it affects everyone.
So they name their latest version with the term for "unbranded cattle". Sounds like an internal Apple term for people who are not yet customers.
Existing customers are successfully branded cattle.
What I would miss the most if I were to leave my Desire Z behind would be the keyboard. My phone is not the newest or fastest around, but I love that keyboard, and my wife is jealous of the cam quality, which is better than hers on her much newer Sony XPeria Go.
Oh. And xmbc. Need that.
...of cellular carriers, the most despised, bullying, and customer-hating organisations - monopolies, often - on the face of the earth, are crying because someone bigger than them is calling the shots for a change. the shock alone must be causing them to palpitate. even better - its because of *unfair and one-sided contract terms*! I laughed so hard I swear my spleen burst.
Actually here in Europe the carriers have something you in the US seem to lack. We call it competition.
Personally I am very happy with my carrier. No monthly fee for the basic subscription and a decently priced data plan.
The Apple contracts are in sharp contrast with the rest...one of many reasons why I would never contemplate buying an iPhone.
That is assuming that free antivirus is as good as paid, which in my experience it is not.
I have had to clean up systems running so-called free antivirus and some of them had 30+ varieties of malware.
I use a paid software at home and it has already paid for itself several times over in blocked attacks.

It actually makes a lot of sense, especially here in Norway where most of the country is mountainous and the arable land is very limited.
Of course, carving caves in granite is a bit more demanding than in porous soil...
Land of the free - where anyone having health problems are FREE to live in a cardboard box...
But then any attempts to socialize medicine gets voted down over there so I guess they have the system they deserve.
If the protocol is defined now, and made public, I cannot help imagining the final approach of our alien visitors, their messaging system flooding over with spam for V1agra, knockoff "time pieces" and urgent letters from Nigeria asking to use their off-world bank accounts...

In theory yes. But the heat capacity of a deep fjord is so great I doubt you would be able to measure any change.
