When I was choosing new computer speakers at CompUSA I actually held my GSM phone next to all the speakers to see which ones were shielded the best. I ended up selecting the Creative GigaWorks T20 as being very well shielded for a good price.
Google backed Firefox aggressively because they, Google, knew that Microsoft could flip a switch in their browser and turn off Google ads (Ad-blocker anyone)... Google needed Firefox in order to prevent that from happening.
You might just be using a different browser with a better JavaScript interpreter... both Safari and Firefox have made great strides with JavaScript performance.

What about a laptop... the Internet data cloud will not be my primary storage area for many years, if ever... it will be a secondary backup location at best. My primary working data will reside on a fully backed up, as secure as necessary, laptop. First level backup is a self managed RAID NAS (which itself is backed up).
I think it will be a long time before speech recognition works outside controlled environments... for example, try navigating these speech recognition menus when your kids are playing and yelling in the background or while you're driving and the car window is open... most of them break down severely... the good ones transfer you to a human after a minute or more of wasted time.

Yes, OS X is awesome... but give me a touch screen all-in-one like the HP and I'm sold: http://h71036.www7.hp.com/hho/cache/447010-0-0-225-121.html
Referring to software as "Done"... turkeys maybe... but software?!
I for one welcome our violin playing overlords
