  1. What a load of shit on Ubuntu Wipes Windows 7 In Benchmarks · · Score: 1
OOOOOhh...lets test the install time between a Linux distro and the new Windows one and see which is quicker and which uses more space. I know people only do it once in a blue flood but we're kind of getting desperate now.
We'll use a Linux distro that fits on a 650MB CD and a Windows one that is on a 2.15GB DVD...I wonder which one will win.

And then we'll use some poncy benchmark that nobody has ever heard of and has no real world relevence to prove Linux is better than Windows 7.

I think we've just about tweaked it enough in our favour that we stand a chance

What we should do instead is raise money to buy an island and form a freedom-compliant government on it. The constitution of this island would state that everyone has total and complete freedom of speech, freedom of expression, and freedom to information, with absolutely, positively, no exceptions.

I guess you haven't quite thought that out then. It would be a child abusers paradise. After all, they don't see what they're doing as wrong and as they're entitled to freedom of expression, you cannot convict them. Also, freedom to information means anyone would have completely unrestricted access to any financial information of yours plus any private data as well such as passwords and PIN numbers.

This isn't the USA so thanks to the fact we pay a bit more in tax, jobless doesn't mean penniless. In the UK, you're guaranteed £60 a week if you're single, £95 if you're a couple plus another £45 a week for each child. On top of that, council tax is then free. If you rent then you get help with that to a certain level and if you've a mortgage then once you've been unemployed 13 weeks, your mortgage interest is paid at Bank of Englsnd base rate plus 1.58%.

And also because it's the UK, you don't have to shit yourself about not being able to meet HMO insurance bills. When you're unemployed, even the flat fee for prescriptions is waived.

In the UK and most of Europe, you get looked after when you're out of work. In the USA, you get fucked over when you're out of work.
