Nintendo didn't do either... For old GameBoy games, the unit "guesses" what colors to fill in... You can change it's guesses on the fly if you don't like 'em...
I can't remember if it was the Palm 4 or the Palm 6 but one of those numbers stands for death in an Asian country (I don't know which one) and Palm didn't want death associated with their handheld...
In the words of David Pogue: "Here, take a look at my Palm Death!".
I built a streaming MP3 station called Fat Free Radio (http://www.fatfreeradio.com) and it runs on a dual P3-500, 512MB RAM, Ultra2SCSI drives. It's nice (it also runs mySQL) and it works great!
I sent an email to Scott McNealy recently asking this same question... It turns out that Sun is re-vamping their edu offerings and something new should be on their site soon.
Too bad it just isn't evolving as quickly as IE... Look a the progress on Mozilla. It's painfully slow. I have downloaded several builds on several platforms and have been disappointed with each one. It really doesn't compare to NS4x or IE4/5... It's very sad that this is true.
I have DSL service in Santa Barbara, CA through my local ISP (Silicon Beach - very good) and GTE (local telco - very bad)... It's great! I love it. I get 768/128 on what is called the "Bronze Plus" plan...
GTE also implementes the VLAN setup that the article describes. Both my friend and I were very early subscribers to the service and ended up on the same VLAN... I cannot exchange packets with him because of the way they have limited the packets and subnetted the network... You know what that mean... NO QUAKE!!!!:-(
I'll second this. I have used PHP3 but I am primarily a servlet programmer. Being able to really use the OO features of the Java language has made my servlets about 100 times more portable, scalable and extendable than PHP...
Also, the Servlet API already supports things like advanced session tracking...
I'll second this. I have been running LinuxPPC for the last several releases and while it *has* improved quite a bit, it DOES NOT compare to the quality of something like Red Hat or Debian... I had several utilities installed as part of the standard distribution that didn't even run...

FYI, the Mac version is in beta...

While the underwriters may make a large bundle, Palm Computing only gets the cash that they agree to sell the shares to the underwriters for...
Well at work we have boring music names like RHAPSODY, ALLEGRO, SONATA, etc...
At home it's DEATHSTAR, ENDOR, HOTH, etc...
Last place I worked:

Supposedly the shots are from the POSE (PalmOS Emulator) and alpha ROMS that 3Com seeded to developers at PalmSource...
Too bad the site is Slashdotted...

To top it off, the same porting house that just brought QUake2 to the Mac is/was porting Half-Life so you KNOW the engine's not the problem.

...And what do you think about the evolution of NeXTSTEP into MacOS X... If Apple puts high power OpenGL into OS X, would you consider a switch?

Too bad it doesn't run on MacOS and PGP does... Anyone tried it on MacOS X Server / MacOS X?

The best solution is to get both and then have your Linux box intelligently route the packets for you!

I'd have to disagree with you there. I find Java much easier to develop in than Perl, plus I find the syntax MUCH more readable.

Yes, this bug was fixed with a patch to OS X Server...
I think that's called denial of service!@!@#!@ I don't know how friendly they would take it...
Anyone know when we can expect 1.3 on Linux? Hotspot on Linux?
Is this the same thing as the "fingerprint"?
Maybe make it not display the sig?
DISCLAIMER: I own 3 Macs and develop for the platform...
You have some good points. I consider myself a technical person and the dumbed down explanations on their site are laughable...
The truth is though, these G4's are REALLY FAST. You should go check one out. I think you will be impressed...
