mySQL is really fast... It lacks features that some people need (stored procs, transactions) but it is SOOOO fast that if you don't need those features, it's really hard to beat.
I think one of the reasons that mySQL costs more on Windoze is that it costs more to develop on Windows. The OS/tools are not free as they are on Linux... Granted mySQL runs on other *NIXes...
What I want to know is this: is it worth the trouble to upgrade from 1.3.6? If so, can I just build a new httpd and drop it in on top of my 1.3.6 install?
Interestingly enough, MacOS X might run on these machines, depending on how far off the hardware is... OS X DOES NOT require a boot ROM from Apple (uses a totally different design). While MacOS 9 doesn't require a boot ROM either, it's got specific system enablers for certain motherboards...
I know that the MacOS is evil because it's not open source...but...
About a year ago there were internal Apple docs floating around on the net showing off ideas for the then-Rhapsody, now-MacOS X GUI. It looks great!! Anyone got a link to that PDF?
Greg Graffin has always been the singer for BR... Brett Gurewitz started Epitaph mainly to release BR records... He left after the recording of Stranger Than Fiction because BR signed to Atlantic and Brett wanted to focus on Epitaph...

This thing looks SOOOO awesome... I might die of envy right now...

Definately... OS X is not sucking... The latest internal Apple builds look quite promising...

Am I the only one that thought the movie was a real great novel twist?
I feel this as well.

Wrong. The X in MacOS X stands for 10.
OS X Server uses DPS. OS X client/consumer and future versions of OS X Server will use what is being called Quartz and is based more on PDF.

I remember WorkBench! Really, in terms of modern interface design, it was fairly borked.
Personally I find X clunky and old.
Win2k requires a reboot when the System Log fills up?? That's fucking ridiculous.
This is really funny... It's sooooooo true.
All of us could start a corporation and buy a 100,000 shares of the stock and then redistribute the profits.
So true, so true... Hmmmmmm... Apple Graphic Artists do not use computers too often...
Adobe Premiere sucks... Try Apple Final Cut Pro or Media 100 or Avid...
It costs a lot of money to go through the certification process...

With the advent of BSD based MacOS X, I wouldn't be surprised to see QT on other *nix's....
Too bad Las Vegas is basically underwater right now...
Soggy crackers... mmmmmm....
For me there is a difference between designing another computer with the same goal and ripping off someone else's idea down to the plastic color.
I don't see why consumers would see this in a bad light. I resent it when others in my office rip off my work and put their name on it...
They did get everyone's permission.
