    Schools funded by property tax is one of the biggest tragedies in America. Low income areas produce low quality schools, keeping people in poverty. I realize it is a separate issue to what you were talking about, however.

    Verizon's smartphones aren't so locked down as their regular offerings. I know my palm centro works great and can do anything any other centro can do. Verizon also is putting out an android phone by the holiday season I believe, named after some american city. With all that said, the level of lock-down of most of Verizon's phones is pretty goddamn appalling.

    To give some anecdotal evidence for this, El Salvadorians I know would much sooner see Mexicans as a race than many others.

    A race is where people see it and racial divisions are certainly not a universal concept. Closer to a social construct if you ask me.

    Completely true, but due to the genetic differences between men and women, men will excel. Its a sticky subject, trying to develop true competition. You want to be fair but you also want the best to win. Wish I knew more about it though.     You can certainly make those statements without being racist, but you do need to back it up. Example of such statements that arn't racist:

    Beliefs as well as cultural factors may affect utilization of drug abuse treatment. Significant differences in rates of treatment entry have been documented among African Americans and Latinos compared to Whites in the United States (Lundgren et al., 2001; Shah et al., 2000). In a study of ethnic minorities in Los Angeles, Latino drug users were less likely than Anglo or African Americans to have sought drug treatment and were more likely than these groups to report a low perceived need for drug abuse treatment (Longshore et al., 1992).

    Hilariously, that story was just as hyperbolic as the idea cops would harass people for using firefox. That kid was a accused of trafficking in stolen goods among many other things, I believe the fact that he used a CLI just was an example of his technical competence.
