I found Spore to be mildly fun, no more or less fun than any other average game. I just started the Space phase. I don't think it has lived up to all the hype.
Having said that, the creature and tribe stages are really quite funny. I caught myself laughing out-loud often at the critters antics. Especially when trying to impress other critters and tribes.
I thought the micro-stage was quite fun (in it's simply way) but it ends so very quickly.
The civilization stage seemed like a typical RTS game.
Saying you have "faith in the scientific method" is an oxymoron. That's like saying I have faith that the Earth's circumference is 24,901.55 miles. Here, read up on the scientific method: http://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/The_Scientific_Method
ONOZ! not yet another futile evolution vs. creationism take no prisoners flame war.
Take a look at this NOVA documentary on the recent Dover, Pennsylvania court battle over teaching evolution in school. It is an incredibly view into the tactic of the creationist movement.
I just started using Firefox instead of IE and really like it. Particularly the Find feature. However it is much slower than IE. I hope version 3 speeds it up.
I just started going to our agencies security conferences with our ISO. OMG, I had no idea. They describe very discouraging and frightening scenarios on the current state of the internet infrastructure security limits. Listening to these security experts the only secure computer is one locked in a box and buried in an unknown location. And even then they'd worry.
I have a router, full blown internet security suite set to maximum secure options, I only work/play on my computer as a "limited" user never as an "administrator", set all my internet security settings to maximum when switch over to do general/entertainment internet browsing, install security patches immediately. Even with all this they scared the heck out of me.
How depressing that my country is experiencing 3rd world style voting problems 200 year after establishing democracy. Citizens having trust in elections is the fundamental backbone to a democracy. I'm further amazed that voters aren't outraged and up in arms over this. This should be THE most important platform issue in our current presidential elections.
Check out this article and you'll get really get upset about some electronic voting machines in use.
lol, you and I posted the same Twilight Zone video. Creepy.
This is really very disturbing. I strongly recommend you spend the 20 minutes looking at this poignant Twilight Zone episode about the thought police. http://www.fancast.com/tv/The-Twilight-Zone/97525/626446465/The-Twilight-Zone-(12-hr)-Penny-for-Your-Thoughts/videos

I find this disturbing. My expectation of privacy again gets knocked down a notch.
