Same experience, i have had 3 1TB drives for personal use, the first 2 was broken when i got them.....! one was a WD green drive, another was a Samsung.. the one working in the end was the most expensive of the 3, a hitachi. I for one was actually experiencing better durability of ide/sata drives for a long time, but the huge failure rate of 2/3 got me wondering.
As an alltime fan of the triologi you mention, i would love to see x-wing, tie-fighter and alliance get an overhaul. I do think my wingman joystick is gone, but i might just get a new if it comes out.
I talked to a friend of mine, whoom i played the original x-wing much with, about reviving the game on my coming setup with a projector screen.. omg imagine playing in dark space, dogfights, with a HUD the size of a living room wall.. yay!!! I might just load the old stuff (still have the original boxes) so any new revisions would just be a bonus.
I played wow for way to long, and also dark age of Camelot for way to long. This game is by far nothing to do with wow, except for the general mmopg terms that is derived. But that is hard not to like, as it makes it easier. Also many of the trivial things, is solved very elegantly.
Good it is really cool to do some real pvp again, i missed it for all the time in wow... no bonus for anyone but yourself, is just lame, now you can fight for something more than yourself.
very refreshing game style, and the game is the most polished release i have seen to date, hands down.
If he played GTA 9 years ago then that would be the original GTA, which was very different from the newer games. The original was top-view, and felt like a Micromachines game. The violence was just turning little blobs into bigger red blobs. The newer games are very different, with far more realism and much more interaction with in-game people.
You are right, and yes that might mean something after all. Just like movies where, yes there is a lot of people dying, but you don't see people get their heads ripped off, so it is just a number more than a blood splatter.
I did however still have some doubts if it was the right thing to do, since he liked just trashing the whole town with a tank he got with a code... i dont know lol.
I guess we will find out in a couple of years, if i was wrong in letting him or not.
overly aggressive video games like manhunt and GTAx can be very bad for children who have not developed proper conflict resolution skills.
I certainly don't agree with banning games like that since they provide many hours of enjoyment to me.
I will not let my son play them until he's mature enough to demonstrate the ability to choose something other than aggression.
I do support game ratings and I wish retailers would enforce them. I don't agree with government regulation of games or movies. That would be censorship.
I could be worried too, but my son did play GTA when he was 6+ years (he is 15 now). Owerall i am sure he has benefittet from all the gaming / fiddling he did back then, as he is a pretty insightfull teen.
He's social skills, seem pretty mature aswell.
I am sure we can agree, that kids differ so much from eachother, that what looks like a good thing to 1, might not be a great idea for another.
Tested this on a Dell Power edge sc1425 (1U) with 1 Sata disk, and it installed with no hassle. It seems that the new Vi-client has some nice extra options compared to the older 2.0.x like plug ins, that can be added for support directly from you hardware vendor.
Say you want the HP insight manager plug in, to view health status on your server directly in your Vi-client, how neat is that!?
We have been running regular Esx since 2.5 and are going to upgrade to 3.5.2 (from 3.0.2) this Thursday, morning. Just wonder if it would be worth getting this on instead, then we could avoid renewing out support plan next year.
Since we aren't running on a San or any other centralized storage solution, we aren't using the enterprise tools, but just 4 DL385 boxes as stand alone.
There is a Cli (command line interface) for the i version, but if you need normal ssh into your box, use this guide: http://www.vm-help.com/esx/esx3i/ESXi_enable_SSH.php
Now they want computers to boot faster? I happen to *like* the fact that it takes 15 minutes to get Vista up and running. Gives me a chance to take a nap, or brew some coffee.
It is funny, but actually vista boots faster than Ubunto, or very close to same. (with SP1, and no bloat ware).
But getting memristor would definitely speed up any machine's boot up time, so instead of 20 seconds it will be a few seconds... really for booting this is not going to mean so much.
Does this technology possess the characteristics to be used as SSD?
Thats gota be the most paranoia approach i have heard of haha ;)

This is really a brilliant move from vmware imho.
