Why not talk about 1st world countries that make the biggest contribution of greenhouse gases?

If the US had spent all the money that is currently being used on the war in Iraq (looks like it will end up around 4 or 5 hundred billion dollars) on a crash program to create an autonomous hydrogen-based power infrastructure (projected to cost about the same as the war), then world CO2 emmisions would be significantly decreased.

And far fewer lives would be lost.

But how do you feel about movies/shows that pander to women? Such movies certainly exist, whether or not you are aware of it. Do you object to them too? A typical Hugh Grant movie is primarily succesful in the women-demographic, because they are styled for that purpose. Terminator 3 or any other male-oriented movie is no different.

uuuum, sounds to me like you are making fun of what you don't understand. If you understand it, it's pretty deep and something worth thinking about, considering its pretty clean logic surrounding the nature of reality.

Once you realize you are not conscious, you become conscious. Stop talking and think, you fucking automatons.

You are forgetting that Neo say's "something feels different." Thar's the rub. Also, you can visibly see something happen when Neo puts up his hand to stop the sentinels. I'll have to see the movie again, but some people inform me that the other ship reached them at the same time and it could have simply been the EMP from that other ship.

That is interesting and I never thought of that... the question then becomes: could there be a reasonable explanation for exactly how the 'real world' Neo can in any way be physically intertwined with the matrix without hacking into it...

Hmm... could you please enlighten me about the "other more likely reasons for Neo's powers in the real world"? I'm curious, because, as a physicist, I can't think of any way to explain it in a way that I would accept.

I think that if Zion were another Matrix, then things get much more complicated... for example it does not have to be the 'outer shell' or penultimate matrix... in other words your argument is not necessarily compelling given that perhaps the 'reason to drill' is much more indirect than you are supposing.

Why does everyone ignore the fact that near the end of the movie, Neo's ability to stop the sentinels shows clearly that the 'real world' is really just another layer in the Matrix. Isn't it OBVIOUS? Or am I missing something...

Not true. Of course software can always emulated hardware that can change itself while running software. On the lowest level, a software physics engine could theoretically harbour AI through an evolutionary process, and a lot of time.

I think it's funny that humans judge what consitutes artificial intelligence, when humans themselves only asymptotically achieve consciousness. It's kind of like a bunch of extremely complicated mechanical computers emulating consciousness, judging whether something achieves AI.
