As much as I would love to agree with you I can not. If new evidence comes along disproving someones guilt they should be retried. Just if a convicted rapist was put away and they later test the DNA from the inside vict and the convicted rapists' DNA and and they do not match. He should go free. The FBI lied on the stand, to convict people. They may be guilty but it is up to the state to convict these people in a fair trial. Not a trial where the DA's witness provided faulty evidence.

Yes but all it takes is one piece of evidence. You have no way of knowing how much that one piece of evidence swayed each member of the jury. It is just like when a witness lies on the stand and they do not find out till years down the line. OR they retest the DNA evidence and they are not guilty etc. A good question may be if Double Jeopardy will apply here or not?

I am just wondering but is the FBI or the DA etc required to inform the people they convicted that the evidence was flawed or is that up to the defendants lawyer? I am not a lawyer and I have not been convicted of anything so I do not know what the rules are behind that. (Can not remember from government class either).

Well I know one thing that is not right...your thinking. Perhaps you do not know about how engineering works? When you design something you design it to the best of your ability. If you notice a flaw, you fix it. You try and prepare for all known and unknown problems, but you are not going to catch them all. You are looking at specific examples and not at the whole picture. Yes maybe the 787 was flawed, maybe the NSA's choice is wrong. But what have we done right? Well you brought up airplanes lets see. The B2 bomber, that has a good trace record. How about the F16 it has never been shot down. Maybe the Mars rovers they appear to be doing quite well, and lasting longer then expected. So yes you win some and you loose some. Thats why it is engineering. If you had all the answers and knew all the potential problems then it would be called following the directions.

Fox new did not have anything to do with it. They did not drug people to get them to vote for Bush or whatever. If something so messed up as the US voting system and the results were close would you not want a recount?

Think of it like this if 500 people were in a room and some had red shirts on and others had blue on. Now to get the totals someone just eyeballs it and says yeah this side won. Well Bush took a look at it and said "no thats kinda close, lets count it out". So he got the courts involved and turns out Bush was right.

Yeah...can't trust them. However, that is not a reason to make a stupid mistake and leave countless users unsupported. Do not think of it as MS think of it as company A and company B. One wants to expand on existing and somewhat flawed technology. The other wants to leave that existing technology alone and start over. In the long run which is the better decision?

Besides saying it is silverlight is step 2000 and we are on step on. Do we want to change JS or make a new language. That is step one. Saying it is SilverLight is just speculation. Microsoft would have to run it past the mac people, the Firefox people, and other companies that have an interest in web development. They can try and push something new but if they do not have the backing of everyone they will get nowhere. It is not 1995 any more.

I would say start a new Language. If they *upgrade* JS how well will it support older browsers. I am not talking IE 5 or anything, but say mobile phone browsers etc? If developers start creating new web pages with the new version of JavaScript are people going to have to upgrade everything? I think it would be better to start a new language so developers can support both. Have a JavaScript page and a XYZNewLanguage page. Sort of like how they have a Flash and a non flash page. So gradually they can phase out JavaScript in replace of a new better language.

The fascination with it in DAOC is the high you get when you kill another player other then a computer controlled character. It is like seeing who has the biggest dick. The more kills you have the more respect you get. On top of that you get to retake castles (this sometimes takes hours) and by taking back the castles you get your realm (or faction) things like +5% to experience earned for everyone in the realm. Also when you kill people in RVR you get bounty points. With these points you can gain new abilities to use in battle or new armor etc. So it adds a fun element to the game rather then the normal grind, or do this quest. It is dynamic content because it is PVP.

I may get trolled for this but oh well. I have played Daoc for over 5 years and the game was going so so then EA bought Mythic. Now when they update the servers and they say they will up by 5pm est they are not running till 1am the next day. Items are missing when you log in, the game randomly crashes. I had a friend who ported from one area in the game to another and it he got stuck in limbo. He had to remove and reinstall the game just to get his character back. Now for the troll part. I think Warhammer could be a good game, I hope it is a good game. But I doubt they are putting it off to polish it up. I imagine they just have so many bugs in the software that they will not pull a vista and ship it early. I know you are probably thinking "Polish and remove bugs are the same thing" Not exactly. Removing minor bugs is what I would consider polishing up, or changing a tire on a car would be a better example. I imagine the game is getting its transmission replaced. Just with past experience on how EA operates. I mean how bad are the managers where they cannot guess how long it will take them to develop a product (yes I develop software). Or how many "bugs" are in the software that you need an extra 6 months to fix the game (fall 07-April 08)? EA has been "testing" warhammer stuff in DAOC for a while now. They changed out how DAOC's chat windows worked (added tabs), how their quest work (added way points), they made the game easier for everyone (dumbed down crafting, Master Levels, and Artifacts). It is like they have been testing new interfaces win DAOC, and testing how easy they can make the game to keep people interested. DAOC is their test bed, and sad to say DAOC is going down hill. Because EA changed so much of the game they have alienated part of their user base. I wish Warhammer luck but I think it will have a good user following at the start then once people get into the game they will be searching for a new game. I could be wrong.
