  1. Lets not forget.... on Does 802.11n Spell the 'End of Ethernet'? · · Score: 1

802.11n has all of the limitations that any wireless network do in regards to range and interference. Furthermore, if everyone were to use 802.11n for their home/business networks, this proliferation would cause many of the interference issues. None of these problems exist with standard wired ethernet connections.

Ill agree with your second statement about alert levels and terrorists, but there are plenty of democrats that got wound up in the paranoia and fear about "WMD"'s and gave the president authorization to use military force against Iraq. I don't think there has ever been a period in time where one party can do whatever it wants without support from some people across the aisle.

  4. A slightly different view.... on Brain Differences In Liberals and Conservatives · · Score: 1

What about the fact that the liberals in America (Democrats) tend to be composed at a higher percentage of racial and social minorities than the conservatives? Wouldn't having a diverse pool of thought on various issues cause liberals to consider alternatives, whereas conservatives tending to have less division as a group make it easier to stick to a viewpoint?

  7. Double-edged sword on Spotlight on Facebook Groups Affects Microsoft · · Score: 1, Flamebait

Facebook is in a unique position here. If they start vetting groups based on "hate speech" or some other term, they will be accused of pandering to a bunch of whiney liberal bitches, resulting in a loss of popularity, and therefore, ad revenue. However, if they continue to allow these groups, the whiney liberal bitch types will whine to the advertisers, resulting in pulled ads, and lost revenue. My solution - incorporate a moderation system like the one on slashdot to filter out the dickwads. If they bitch, all you have to say is that you were not censoring them, that it was a community decision. And to the whiney liberal bitches, if they start complaining, all you have to do is tell them to get off their pot smoking asses and mod them down. They should probably limit this to groups, though. It would suck if one day you check your facebook profile and see that it had been moderated to -5: Geek whos probably still a virgin.........

Jatropha actually has been cultivated as a fuel for a long time now. I had a prof from Kenya who was really excited about the first round of investments in Jatropha a few years ago by BP. He said that basically all major farms in Africa cultivate Jatropha to help offset fuel costs and that it is starting to be used by farmers in India. I think this is more of a case of people adapting a native plant (once considered annoying) into a fuel more than trying to spread it like kudzu was...

Considering that in the U.S. alone, nearly two-thirds of all capital convictions are overturned, I don't think that is a very good idea.
